Morons never take a break--even on Easter Sunday. Thanks goodness they have a place where they can be themselves.

Mr. "The Coaches Have No Idea How to Teach or Coach or Communicate" doesn't have a whole lot to say after a dominant win. He's not interested in being objective. Win and it's silence. Lose and the world is ending. Rough way to go about being a "fan" IMO, but to each his own.
KH18 was at the game yesterday signing autographs and then tweeted a photo with him and his mom from the Cordish deck celebrating the W. He has as much reason as Rabil to be bitter about the coaching change but he's been much more diplomatic about it than his former teammate.

How many of the current players are ones that Milliman recruited?
Re: Johns Hopkins 2022
13 out of 51. Eight freshmen (all of whom committed late or were poached after the coaching change), plus five transfers.gymman1031 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 12:43 pm How many of the current players are ones that Milliman recruited?
Next year it'll be about half.

Probably would have lost if PSU had started their freshman goalie.
Let's see how they do against UMD next week.
Or maybe not. I don't have the stomach to watch that one.
DeSo, Keough, Lyne are lost to graduation.
One or two more transfers out and this team is not even competitive next year.
Sing your tune when the team is out of the playoff conversation AGAIN next March.

interesting column from a d3 rival on Hopkins athletics.
The Centennial Track & Field Conference comprises Dickinson, Bryn Mawr, Franklin & Marshall, Gettysburg, Haverford, McDaniel, Muhlenberg, Swarthmore, Ursinus, and Johns Hopkins. All of these colleges and universities have an undergraduate student body of less than 3,000 except Hopkins, which has over 6,000 students. This alone seems unfair. With over twice as many students, Hopkins has twice as many potential athletes.
Larger schools also have more money to put toward sports than smaller schools, another advantage the mid-sized Hopkins has over smaller schools in the conference. Because of their funding, Hopkins’ track program is on another level compared to the other Centennial Conference schools. Their athletic training center boasts two anti-gravity treadmills, machines which cost tens of thousands of dollars apiece. Other conference schools are simply unable to spend that much money, especially for the benefit of a sport like track, which draws no revenue from spectators.
The school size and funding for Johns Hopkins’ Track & Field team feed into their domination in competitions. For 11 consecutive years, Hopkins women have won both the Indoor and Outdoor Conference Championships. During this year’s indoor championship, they won with a final score being 343 compared to second-place Swarthmore’s 87 (a 256-point difference). Hopkins men have won the last 9 indoor championships and the last 7 outdoor championships. At most of these championship-winning meets, the men and women score over 100 more points than the second-place finishers. If that’s not dominance I don’t know what is.

The first paragraph can be summed up by tell me you know nothing about how D3 sports without telling me you know nothing about D3 sports. As if any of these schools are just going through the school enrollment and seeing if kids want to try out for track and field.jhu06 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 8:34 am https://thedickinsonian.com/opinion/202 ... onference/

And the rest is just a whiny screed from a kid on the track and field team. Is there some applicability to Hopkins lax and its fans...not in the least because Hopkins lax fans aren't asking to change the dynamics/advantages of the other teams but asking for Hopkins to raise to the challenge and get better. Whether the administration lets that happen is another story.

Back in the day where there were around 2000 undergrads, teams did post fliers announcing try-outs.steel_hop wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 11:46 amThe first paragraph can be summed up by tell me you know nothing about how D3 sports without telling me you know nothing about D3 sports. Lacrosse doubleheader at Hopkins. It all starts at 12 PM when the Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse team take on Ohio State. Then stick around, as the men's lacrosse team host Maryland at 6 PM
Re: Johns Hopkins 2022
I signed up for a Lacrosse Reference Pro account. The Jays this season have their best adjusted defensive efficiency since at least 2014. (Data only goes back to 2015). D this year is better than it was in 2015 when we last made the FF as well as in 2018 when we last made the QFs. And it should go without saying that it's both better than last year and much, much better than in '19 and '20.
Offense on the other hand is almost exactly the same as in 2020 and has shown no improvement over prior years.
This defense + a couple more explosive dodgers in the next few classes...could have something. They're not terribly far off.
Now, running with the Terps this year is an entirely different story. They're #1 in offense (we're #37) and #3 in defense (we're #17, Syracuse is #62).

Just printed three tickets, one for a Maryland grad, one for a Hopkins grad, and one for myself. Looks like nice weather in the forecast. Maybe the rivalry will kick, or maybe we'll just get another look at the juggernaut.
