York’s roster of 48 returns 2 of their top 3 scorers (6 of their top 10). They are carrying 6 grad students, and bring in 2 transfers.
Their grad students are their 64% faceoff man, their top scoring attackman, their top shutdown close defender, their top SSDM, a starting middie, and a middie transfer who looks to be starting as well.
Their transfers are the aforementioned middie, Keogh from Mary Washington where he was the top scoring mid & second in points overall, and Harmon, a FO from Howard CC where he too went 64% at the dot.
York had one of the hardest OOC schedules last year, and with the departure of Lebanon Valley from the commonwealth, they’ve been able to put together even more of a beast this year, adding another nationally ranked foe in RPI.
Come on. Anyone’s job? Or what?

Re: York 2024
I am hearing that there will be a few kids available on Saturday that were not available last Saturday. Also hearing that RPI scrimmages Stevens on Saturday so I should have an idea of how that went by the end of the weekend
Re: York 2024
Any idea where that scrimmage will happen?
Never mind - answered my own question - Stevens' schedule lists it in Troy.

Anybody know anything about Goalie 8's injury status. Kid was a pretty goalie in HS, but sturggled with injuries and sitting behind Michael in recent years.

I’d love to see that RPI Stevens scrimmage. Equally interested in what both will look like this year.

Re: York 2024
also interested in CNU and Lynchburg, but from I hear they play in the regular season so it will probably be a lot of back ups.

Re: York 2024
I would be curious about this also. RPI is a wild card. They seemed to finish strong last year. Finished the season ranked 19, but preseason jumped to 15. The AI write up suggests they are bringing back a lot of talent. And York gets them first. Looking on paper, I say York handles them. But the first game is always the unknown.DeepPocket wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 9:41 amI’d love to see that RPI Stevens scrimmage. Equally interested in what both will look like this year.
Re: York 2024
RPI is a dangerous team as they bring back a ton of talent including a pre-season 1st team AA goalie, but having them at home is an advantageLaxattackjack wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 7:31 amI would be curious about this also. I took a gander at their 53 man roster in the same fashion I have for the MAC teams. They look to have returned all of their 10 starters and all of their top 10 scorers. They carry 6 grads, to include bringing in 1 grad transfer that I found.Asgot wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 8:04 amRPI is a dangerous team as they bring back a ton of talent including a pre-season 1st team AA goalie, but having them at home is an advantageLaxattackjack wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 7:31 amI would be curious about this also. The grads they have are lead by a midfield starter, Murphy, who lead the team in scoring last year. He is joined by Midfielder Mazella, who was 4th in scoring last year. They also bring in grad transfer Attackman from Ursinus, Ojert. He started for Ursinus where he was 5th in points, and notably faced York last year. The remaining grads are an SSDM and 2 depth middies.
Their senoir goalie, Perry, at 6’3” with a career SV% of .57 has size and skill to be effective in their 10 man ride. He comes into the season highly touted with preseason AA honors. They also return their faceoff man, Venuto, who sports 59% at the dot. In his game vs RIT, the one mutual foe with York last year, he went 14/23. York’s Facciponti went 15/25 agains that same RIT stable of faceoff players.
This looks to have the potential for quite the battle in the middle of the field. Two stout faceoff men, two deep and experience laden midfield units. RPIs reputed aggressive 10 man ride, and York’s breadth of talent in the SSDM & LSM roles. Looking forward to a good one on 02/10.

Re: York 2024
I like space eater goalies. They can set up on one post and bait you to the other. If they are positionally sound, and read low shots well, that makes for a tough shooting day. Forget his name, but the Lynchburg goalie last year was like that. If they have a good instinctual step to the ball, it's just a lot of surface area to overcome. They usually guess less frequently too. Good early season test for your offense. Pulling for you guys this year.DeepPocket wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 9:46 amI took a gander at their 53 man roster in the same fashion I have for the MAC teams.
