You can actually go right off of RPI it looks like,
and the committee may do just that -

which then the 8 at large look like,

Duke, Notre Dame, UVA, Hopkins,
Penn State, Yale, Penn, Denver.

If upenn loses tonight and Michigan loses in the final. Both would be 1 win over 500. I think Michigan has a good shot at an at large compared to them.

Thankfully,

this should put to bed the Conry has under-achieved,
Conry hasn’t recruited top players never-ending saga
for a while.

so you've come around on villanova not being dead in the water? haha.
??
just joshing you from our convo on villanova's "do or die" for an at large game being vs g'town earlier... asked for predictions on the game.
mine was that it wasn't a do or die game. their do or die game was last night.

they died. that said, maybe the committee will be huge big east fans this year... or more correctly, they like villanova's metrics.

if that happens, i'll be sad. and won't know how much talent they have.

You will be relieved to know that it is put to bed as far as I am concerned. Of course, all along, I was saying Conry recruited some fine talent. And now, it is showing, as he not only has his players, but they aren't as young and are much more experienced.

It's also addition by subtraction.......talent is relative. The other BigTen teams sans Hopkins are having down years, and lost a TON of scoring.

So two years ago, we were comparing Jared Bernhardt AND Wisnauska with Zawada (no contest there)....and now we are comparing Braden Erksa with Zawada....a much more difficult call. All fine players.

So did Michigan get better....or did other teams drop a notch? IMHO, it's a little of A and a little of B.

But even still, to my earlier points about patience, and how freaking hard it is to make NCAA's in the BigTen: even after such a solid year for Conry, they're STILL on the bubble right this second, and nothing is guaranteed. Ask Duke and ND about how the selection committee works.

Point is, what Conry is building is a lot harder than it looks. New program, killer conference.

Go Blue!!

We haven't always agreed. But I agree with you here. I said many times that, with the talent all his and plenty of experienced players, THIS was the year where serious improvement needed to be shown. If it wasn't, having doubts about his abilities to get things much further would be natural. That said, he certainly has shown tremendous improvement and quieted several doubters. Congrats to Coach Conry!

This is what people were talking about when they said Mich was a sleeping giant.

Expectations in Ann Arbor will never be the same after this. They've made the jump. It's a new era now.

Yep! Forgive me for doubting Conry. He has his own players. And several had lots of DI experience going into this season. What a big difference that has made!

Great win. Would have taken a lot of glove and stick checks to overcome that team today.
