Based on yesterday's eye test, I don't blame you. I don't know much about power points, but I'm guessing that early season loss to Connetquot hurt you.
I'm amazed that they are at the bottom of the list. In case of ties, head to head should be the 1st criteria, unless it's a 3-way triangle situation.

Perhaps because it is based on the entire SEASON and not just one game Your Tigers LOST to Connetquot you know.

We played the whole season with comparable schedules and ended up with the same league record and we beat them.

I think the problem is they lost to you, while you lost to someone meaningfully worse. If it’s me deciding (and clearly they don’t care about my opinion either) I agree with you and let head to head decide it

I used to be able to do power points math but I can't anymore. The way I understood it was that it was based on the records of the teams you beat. By that metric, however, we also come out ahead. The teams we beat were a combined 104-78 in the league, while the teams Hills beat were 101-81.

However, if you go by total schedule, they do come out ahead.

12 of our 14 games were against the same teams (Hills went 12-0 in those games while Northport was 11-1 with a loss to Connetquot)
13th game for Hills was vs Riverhead (11-3) whereas Northport played Pat-Med (8-6), so that's a slight advantage for Hills.
14th game was vs each other, and Northport won.

So Hills went 13-1 against a schedule that was 114-82
Northport went 13-1 against a schedule that was 111-85

I think that is what did it.

So a while back Chris you mentioned how this Nassau Super-League was going to leave a few teams with records they weren’t used to seeing. As we know the fallout is in Class A where Port is 2-11, Syosset has a losing record at 7-8, and Pequa is 8-8. Only Farmingdale has held it together with a healthy 10-5 record. So far the teams that have thrived are South Side, GC, and Wantagh.

Looking through the records, I’m going to give a shout out to one program that barely even knew how to compete in lacrosse 15 years ago….Island Trees. I remember them as a league game Manhasset was forced to play, the games would sometimes start with Manhasset up 8-0 in the 1st, and winning 15-1 after pulling their starters and milking the clock. Well no more…..This year they are 10-6, with wins against Lynbrook and North Shore, and one goal losses on the road to CSH and Syosset, and a 3 goal loss on the road to Farmingdale. Good for Island Trees and whatever they are doing right over there

And it's far better for the development of Island Trees' program that they not have to play Manhasset and CSH every year. The power league is better for everyone despite some of the coaches grumbling.

Oh thanks, well at least they’re not losing tonight! Good luck to your squad but I think mine is the one going to need a few favorable bounces

The brackets are up for Nassau with Manhasset playing Roslyn. Can somebody explain to me how the Manhasset girls are the top seed in C while the boys play in B ? Has enrollment been broken down by sex which I find hard to believe ?

Classifications do vary according to sex and sport. For lacrosse for this season they are as follow:

Boys A 1026 and Up Girls A 1060 and Up
Boys B 734-1025 Girls B 775-1059
Boys C 431-733. Girls C 465-774
Boys D 430 and Below. Girls D 464 and Below

Manhasset’s number is 746.
As to why this should be you would need to consult a higher authority. I would surmise it would be because the number of girls in schools across the board is higher.

Some measure of vindication - playoff bracket for Hills starts with Connetquot then winner of Huntington/Smithtown East.
Northport gets Bay Shore/SF winner and then Melville - albeit Melville will be their biggest challenge but first game is easier than the T-Birds.

Not seeing Connetquot in the quarters is nice but the prize was not having to see WM in the semis.

Suffolk A quarters Wednesday are set

Connetquot at Hills
Smithtown East at Huntington
Riverhead at WM
Bay Shore at Northport

WM gets the easiest QF matchup despite being the 3 I think.

I think one of Hills or Northport will face a tough game.

the 4-5 game is basically a coin flip.

All good match ups - Northport should be the 1 seed - head-to-head should be most important
WM playing against the 6th seed - one would think it would be an EASIER DRAW to play the 7th seed - NO?
Hopefully Saturday is a classic Northport vs Ward Melville matchup

Obviously seeds don't tell the whole story. Connetquot beat Northport and lost to Hills by 1. Riverhead played a soft schedule and wasn't competitive against any top teams. Bay Shore played the full gamut and was more competitive than Riverhead against top opponents.

Good for Riverhead for going 11-3 but I'd rather play them than Connetquot.
