The cosmological constant then made a comeback, no longer denigrated as Einstein’s huge mistake, but as a representation of “dark energy.” Then more confusion ensued and exploring the true nature of the constant is a major area of research today.

In other words, the cosmological constant was first lauded as an important corrective measure, then as a huge mistake, then as a redeemed triumph, and then after a very confusing performance, an enigma …

I should’ve added a wink emoji. I assumed you were shading the Terps, as a Cuse fan.

In any event, is Michigan really the underdog? They recently handled Maryland fairly well.

Oh I'm absolutely shading Tillman's team (anytime)... but also love seeing unexpected teams stirring it up. Look at the upsets so far..."pretty neat, pretty good."

I definitely consider Mich the underdog despite the reg season score.

Roger. I thought so. Lol.

The thing is, I root for Tillman regardless where he’s coaching. The guy is a standout in every way. Upstate NY’er btw. So we will be on opposite sides, Tech37, but I also won’t lose any sleep if Michigan takes the B1G championship.

Massey is not impressed by Michigan's earlier win, gives the Terps a win probability of 89% by a most-likely score of 16-10:

The three Big 10 teams that didn't make the NCAAs last year all advance to the second round this year. Congratulations to Hop, Michigan and Penn State!

Two big ACC-B1G clashes coming up. I think Michigan has a great chance to advance, they are playing some excellent lax right now. Hung with Cornell’s high-powered offense even though the faceoff numbers were about even. They will give Duke all they can handle.

The Big Ten has the opportunity to make it's case as clearly the best conference in the land.

Nice to have the opportunity just really doubt that it will happen. At best a split, likely to be sent home just like the IVY League.

So you just don’t like the B1G, then, got it.

Nothing to do with not liking the Big 10, I just believe that the top three teams in the Big 10 are not as good as the top three teams in the ACC. And everyone is going to have the opportunity to see the two conferences slug it out in head to head competition this coming weekend. Promise to come back and give kudos if deserved to the big 10.

If Florida State, Clemson, Virginia, North Carolina and Miami were to become available, that’s a real and major domino to fall in conference realignment. As one Big Ten source put it, “Those schools are where the real value is.”

story on acc schools concern about falling behind big ten and sec financially. Off the record big ten source quoted as saying focus would be on florida schools, clemson, unc and uva which of course are relevant to mens lacrosse.

I can see the B1G football folks wanting to look at FSU, Clemson, and Miami. But the academic folks might not be happy holding their noses. I heard a rumor they were unhappy with Nebraska.

Well maybe, I guess that's why they play the games. But Michigan took Maryland to the woodshed twice, JHU split games with Maryland, and Maryland beat Virginia in OT and lost to ND in triple OT this year. Terps were just as competitive with those ACC teams as anyone.

I know the law of transitive properties and all, but this idea that those three ACC teams are untouchable I'm not sure is right.

7 Acc schools have been exploring getting out of their GOR agreement.

The Acc as a conference is in peril. That's some serious smoke.

there seems to be zero interest in the big ten in adding syracuse or duke.
