Tru dat, 06! I think Crawley had a late growth spurt too. Well done, JC.

I really like Desko, so I felt pretty bad for him. He was livid in the first quarter against Colgate at home? in the first game of the year?? He knows they've got serious issues up there in Onondaga County. ACC should be interesting.

Jays are lucky to play on Saturday after seeing the #2 and #10 teams upset. It's good to know you are vulnerable. Towson is obviously a formiddable beast. I'm particularly looking forward to how we measure up at the face off x.

Lacrosse season has begun, life if good!

I am heartbroken that Lax Fidelis did not live to see another Johns Hopkins lacrosse national championship. But with Spring around the corner, hope is renewed, and I am certain LaxFi is with us in spirit.

Yes ... the college lacrosse season officially opens with the first game of the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays. And there is only one way to begin the season: To Win!

Go Blue Jays!

Epstein starting on attack.

First midfield is DeSimone, Smith, Keogh.

Strong first quarter and then the turnovers, faceoffs and dumb penalties caught up. Nothing from Marr so far either.

Woodall is a match up nightmare for sure. The bigger issue is size. Shrimps at the midfield and getting steamrolled (see Cattoni for an example). Also getting steamrolled at Dmid. Time to matchup Towsons size. This is ridiculous.

Forry was actually running on first mid. Couple bad turnovers (which could be said about lots of people. Have to figure out more than just face offs (clearing, backup ssdms, clearing to name a few)

Blue Jays need to make a goalie change. It’s not Darby’s failure to stop shots (Hopkins sloppy D and turnovers on offense aren’t helping) ... you have to know how to throw a decent clearing pass. I think we’ve seen at least 4 or 5 horrible clearing passes from Darby already. Absolutely no composure when he has the ball. Throwing a decent clearing pass is just a matter of fundamentals.

Game’s not over, but these Jays don’t look ready to play.

I think Darby will be fine. F/O and midfield are terrible. The mids are getting completely pushed around. What happens when the midfield faces teams in the ACC?

Couldn’t keep watching. It was too ugly. Defense is a mess, isn’t that there strength? Offense has a long way to go as well. Won’t even mention face offs or goal.

Thus team has a long way to go considering the schedule.

Yes, I agree, they talent and size are on a different level, but many ACC teams have a lot of work to do too. Lots of traditionally top teams have looked awful this week.

This could be a very strange season.

We might be like Syracuse. Struggling to find 7 wins to even be eligible. Hope I’m wrong.

Embarrassing. Offense not playing as a unit, but more like independent contractors. D is a complete mess. Only guy looking a little better in the 2nd half? Darby ... go figure.

As for faceoffs ... boy, do the Blue Jays miss Coach Koesterer. But glad they’re giving several faceoff guys some reps.

Yikes.

Only good thing to say about this one is that it's finally over.

Hop's third SSDM spot is a disaster. How is there not one guy on that roster who won't just get torched? Shades of 2016-2017.

Boneheaded clearing aside, Darby looked fine as a shot-stopper. This loss was not on him.

No idea why Zinn didn't play till the second half. Our munchkins at the midfield are getting worked and you've got a big, fast, athletic dude just sitting on the bench. This is what he was recruited for. The second he was put in, he provided a spark in transition on the assist to Cattoni. He should be running on the first midfield and could be an asset in games like these against fast, tough teams.

The offense is taking SO LONG to set up. By the time the personnel is on the field, there are only 40-50 seconds left on the clock. Wasting nearly half of the clock on getting the right guys in there. Screw the personnel—attack the cage. I want to see Kuhn and Jones involved more attacking in transition instead of immediately stopping the second the ball crosses the midline.

Colwell probably should have been benched, he was no match for Sunday. Or at least move Foley to that matchup.

Woodall is a beast but it's a major concern that none of our guys could even remotely hang with him. Prouty looks the same as last year. I believe Matt Narewski is the only one who won a faceoff cleanly.

Throw it away and light it on fire. We're onto Loyola.
