Once again:

1. Conry has recruited great
2. He has all his own players now.
3. Lots of his players are very experienced.

Let’s see how they do against Rutgers, Penn State, and Ohio State.

4. Other BigTen teams are having a down year with some generational talent leaving the year before.....so the door is open for upsets.

Michigan now has a slim opening to sneak a NCAA playoff bid this year. Hope they snag it. Have to finish .500, because it'd be a tall order to win the Big Ten.

Yep! I am hoping that, if they are on the bubble come Selection Sunday, that loss to Marquette won’t come back to bite them.

Michigan has talent.

Michigan can play with anyone.

Just goes to show, all the B1G teams are good this season.

Wow. Beating Maryland is one thing. Whipping them by five AT MARYLAND?!?

Michigan beating Maryland=huge

However, if Michigan can win at Rutgers on Friday=just as big, if not bigger

Think about it. Rutgers will be desperate for a conference win and be hungry. In addition, they may well take Michigan, if possible, even less lightly now. Also, Friday evening road games aren't always easy for college teams. Especially if they have to travel a long way. And, we can't forget that, IF Michigan wins, it won't just be their first victory over Rutgers since 2015, but it will also mark the first time the program has won back-to-back conference games.

Hungry/desperate didn't do it last Saturday. We'll see this week.

It sure didn't. However, and while I am not taking anything away from your Jays, who are looking excellent, Rutgers will be home on a Friday night this time.

Likely to have their second most points getter available.

Michigan has a lot of talent and is obviously putting it together. It should be a good game. Knights are 23 of their last 24 at home I believe.

Tough loss. But a fine performance. Up until this season, we couldn't say this about Michigan Lacrosse. But, after wins over Maryland and Harvard, as well as close losses to UVA, Hopkins, and Rutgers, it is very fair to say that that the Wolverines are looking much improved, are showing serious promise, and are that close to being MUCH BETTER. One next step is to come out on top of more of the games against the rock-solid opponents.

Even with a loss to Penn State, Michigan continues to show improvement. In past years, a team like Penn State would have won handily. Let's see if, in the near future, a lot more of these close losses to such teams will turn into wins.

As someone who has been critical of Michigan, I will say that there is more reason than ever before to have hope that Coach Conry will lead the program to many good things. However, a lot of those close losses need to turn into wins soon.

Cohen's 6 turnovers killed them

‘Course,
some of those were caused turnovers.

One of the best current goalies in America didn't help Michigan's cause either. Without his First Half play, Michigan could have led by more than two at the half.

We have talked about Michigan taking next steps. Like I said on the UM-OSU thread, if the Wolverines prevail in that one, they will have taken another small step. That is, for the first time in history, for a normal five-game regular season conference schedule, they will finish 2-3.
