Cuse picks up UIndy transfer Abigail Lagos - D2 Honda Athlete of the Year nominee, IWLCA Player of the Year, & Attacker of the Year
This woman graduated high school in 2016   I don’t know her story, but turned my head when I read that 2023 will be her 7th year in college. She turns 25 in November according to her U Indy bio
According to her bio, she redshirted freshman year in 2017, was granted a medical redshirt in 2019, then there was the COVID year in 2020.

If Taylor Gait had played during the pandemic she likely would have been in a similar situation, but since she did not her career, hampered with knee injuries, was only 6 years long.

Same goes for Loyola's Katrina Geiger who played her freshman season in 2013, medically redshirted 2014, played 2015, medically redshirted 2016 after playing 1 game, and played 2017 & 2018.

Somewhat similarly, UNC Men's Lacrosse had a 21 year old freshman back in 2016. He was a part of the 2014 recruiting class but, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, elected to go on a mission prior to attending college.

And those examples are pre-COVID.

It's definitely unusual, but you're right, we can't know someone's whole story. At the end of the day, everyone gets their 4 full years of in-season competition & no one can sue the NCAA because they didn't.
She is ridiculously talented and I would not be surprised if she takes a current attackers place . Who imo was a bad take
Never seen the u Indy transfer play, but still SMH about the Cuse transfer double dip last season.
Never seen her play and I’m sure she’s good. However, playing teams like Frostburge, Findlay and Rockhurst is definitely different then playing teams like BC, UNC and NW. I guess time will tell.
What a pretentious post lmao. Do you have any idea how
Many excellent players go d2 for various reasons. Nursing majors are one example. 60% of d1 rosters are benchwarmers. Sibs. Alumni kids. Favors. So they can wear the gear and brag. The double
Dip transfer(which btw love the term) blew up
In their face last season.

Actually agree with you on all of this. Not pretentious, simply stating, as it pertains to lacrosse, that the level of competition between BC and Rockhurst is probably not exactly the same.

I don't see this post as pretentious at all. Facts are facts. The competition she faced at times at UIndy was less than stellar.

She is a good player. She works real hard. She is quick, very fast, redefends very hard yet I fear she may be undersized for the ACC. She got beat up physically at the D2 level (at least my observation) and I hope she can take the physical pounding in the ACC. Having watched her play for the past years I am really rooting for her to succeed but the poster is correct time will tell how she does against the ACC and SU's out of conference schedule. She works extremely well off the elbow and I see her as a good fit in SU's weave offense but again, time will tell. It is very crowded at the attack position.

Agreed. There are some subpar opponents. But I’m a firm
Believer in playing to your competition. She will more than likely rise to it. I don’t think Undersized There are a lot of small girls starting in the acc. She’s scrappy. And Cuse likes scrappy. Attack is crowded indeed which I was surprised when I read of this take. But schweitzer was a bust at attack imo as was her sister in goal. But that’s a whole other topic. I think she may get the nod. She has a lot to prove and sometimes that fuels the fire enough. I’m rooting for change

Field hockey subs on the fly continuously. Endurance is a huge part of game strategy. Coaches like to go at least 3-4 deep in the box, if their depth allows. I am sure swart’s engine is a welcome addition.

This is what I assume is swart’s first time in a game since high school. Seems like she settled in fine.

At a quick glance, Cuse field hockey schedule seems to resemble Duke lax ; ) ! ACC is a grind, but OOC they only have 3 games of any real note. It’s a strategy.

What????? Haarmon scores but it hit a teammate's foot on the way and the goal doesn't count?????
de Vries scores shortly thereafter, then Leeggangers (Netherlands) 30 sec later, then Comans (Netherlands).
3-0 Cuse, end of one.
Swart in early.
No contact at all in this game?
Geezuz, the corner shot is pretty interesting.
Everyone don your mask (D) and into the cage???

Wow, a lot to learn...a dangerous save by a GK??
Can only shoot from within the arc?

Scoreless second qtr, still 3-0.

Comans from de Vries, really sweet stickwork and pass from de Vries.
4-0

Columbia scores on the corner shot play....a rocket to the back of the net. First ever goal v Cuse.
4-1, end of three.

The corner (not from the corner) shot looks very dangerous.
GKs use the same size stick?

Goal from Boogart (another Netherlands girl) on a rebound of the initial shot on the corner shot play.
5-1

5-2, another corner shot goal by Columbia...really nice passing on this play.

Comans again now, 6-2. Nice screen by Swart on this goal, smart play.
6-2, final.

I am loving the commentary on FH, DMAC. Message me if you would like a tutorial on the rules. I played quite a while ago (GO DEACS!), but have kept up with the game, even doing some play-by-play for D1 and D2 college games, so I can hook you up.

Mighty nice offer, watcher. You do realize I'm going to need the whole book, footnotes, and the audio version right?
That's the first FH game I've watched (sad that Cuse has won the NC twice and there probably aren't twenty people
in Cuse who know that). Was surprised that there's virtually no contact in this game, just expected there to be but it's
good that there's not, otherwise no one would ever get anywhere with the ball (D is much easier here than O just as
in ice hockey).
A lot of running but I don't think any more so than wlax and you don't get the long fast break plays like you do in wlax.
It's actually a pretty clean game and unlike football it doesn't take 3+ hours to play the 60 minute game, not a lot of
stoppage in this game.
A "dangerous save" by a GK? Didn't see one but heard the commentators mention it. WTH is that?

Uh oh, lost track of Swart and the FH gals. Swart held off the board again and it looks as if the Princeton girls put a bit of a whuppin' on the Cuse gals. Princeton 5-1 over Cuse, handed 'em their first loss, Comans the only scorer for Cuse. Cuse now 4-1, play Monmouth today at noon, can be seen here but you have to $ubscribe so I guess I'll be watching the game in which you get fifteen minutes of action in a sixty minute game that takes three hours to broadcast.
https://www.flolive.tv/signup?redirect= ... id=7941006
Go Sam and go Cuse!!!
Updates to follow.

Penalty corner by Boogert, shoy by de Vries.
Nope, GK saves it. 0-0, 5 (or so) left in the 1st.

GOAL by SU de Vries, Charlotte (FIRST GOAL), Assist by Hamilton, Lana.
Time of Goal: 08:39
The clock runs up in this game???

Quater ends at 1-0
Cuse has 8 shots, 7 on goal, 6 saves for the Monmouth GK.
Nary a shot from Monmouth, Cuse GK bringing a bag of nuts
out for the 2nd qtr.

2-0 now, GOAL by SU de Vries, Charlotte, Assist by vd Eijnden, Sabine.
Time of Goal: 15:50

de Vries on a tear, another goal. Assisted by Graziosi.
3-0
Cuse GK almost had to put her nuts down for a second, one
shot from Monmouth now, not on goal though.

Sure, what do have to offer?

Meanwhile, during the lull in any lacrosse postings, it's still 3-0 heading into 4th.
Big buildup of peanut shells around the Cuse cage, Monmouth still with only 1 shot.

UH oh, green card on Sam Swart. Kind of glad to see it, was wondering if she was
getting in the game.

3-0, final.
Cuse GK probably bring a bigger bags of nuts next time these two meet.

Back to the flurry of Cuse wlax posts now.
