About as good a 1st quarter and as bad a 2nd quarter as is possible.

Marcille isn't seeing it great tonight. Has been caught guessing a couple times. Out shooting, out GB-ing, out faceoff-ing the Hens — difference has been poor shooting and goalie play. That accounts for the difference right now.

Mazzone has 8 GBs at halftime

29-11 GB edge and 11/13 FO—and we’re trailing.

Mazzone with 8 of those GBs.

Jays had their legs in 1st half, but made it easy on the goalie.

hopkins is running 3 and 4 lines which means that stuart phillips and brooks english are taking shots that collison or hf16 guy grimes would otherwise be taking.

the gbs and faceoffs have been fantastic.

Who would you rather take those shots? Ron Daniels?

Well, that was a catastrophic quarter.

What are we doing on offense? Delaware was having trouble staying with Evans and English (even Bauer to some extent), yet those guys were barely on the field in the second quarter. Having Peshko, Grimes, and Collison on the field at the same time is (IMO) a terrible idea. Who is beating their man and drawing a slide in that set-up? Having Grimes initiate is simply running down the shot clock.

For as well as we shot against Virginia, that was the exact opposite.

On the plus side, I've rarely seen a half that dominant in terms of ground balls. Tins of possession completely squandered.

Final thought: if Owen Grant has the ball on a restart, going into a 10-man ride is one of the dumbest ideas imaginable.

Indeed. We'd be smart to lock him off.

Evans initiating from the high wing vs Grimes initiating from the high wing. Can you tell the difference?

Maybe. I really don't understand why the ball is in Grimes' stick so much.

Grimes is testing my support for him being on the field. You can’t get muscled like that at 6’4 220

I don't understand why their best shooter is left alone -- ever.

PM: son, if Kurtz goes into the porta-potty, you go in there with him.

None of their SSDMs can stay with Evans. Perhaps we should let him initiate more than twice in 3Qs?

I don't see it with Dixon, sorry. He frequently butchers peoples names and seems a step behind each play. "Hopkins was lucky there" — what are you talking about? There's no time left on the clock. It doesn't matter if their goalie wins the run out. It's double zeroes.

Feel fortunate to only be down two considering the goalie disparity.
