Also, hearing that Capital has made their hire as well. Announcement coming shortly.
Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
I think SUNY Polytechnic will finally have someone in place by next week. Several good coaches interviewed but couldn't get a deal done yet.

Capital is hiring Adam Stewart, former Denison player and coach. Had a cup of coffee at Capital as an assistant, and spent last year as a high school coach.MajorMacLax18 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:43 pm Also, hearing that Capital has made their hire as well. Announcement coming shortly.

Great news! I hope he can stay for a while and build a great program. The foundation is there and Cap should be an easy sell with it's proximity to downtown Columbus & Ohio State. And Central Ohio has several good HS lax programs to draw from.

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
Not a head coaching announcement but seems significant that Tommy Deluca, former Cabrini HC is now associate head coach at Eastern a university. Increased his commute by about 100 yards
Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
This is great to hear. Tommy did a great job in a tough situation last year. Glad to see him find a good gig and not have to uproot his life. Good stuff.boredatwork wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 12:03 pm Not a head coaching announcement but seems significant that Tommy Deluca, former Cabrini HC is now associate head coach at Eastern a university. That's great news for Tommy! He's going to be Eastern's DC. I'm sure his girlfriend is happy he's staying in the area.VTLaxGuy wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 3:08 pmThis is great to hear. I've heard poly has finally hired a coach and it's a big name. If true it's a great hire. Announcement should come this coming week

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
Notre Dame University of Maryland just reposted their HC job, although it appears they’ve added a facilities director component to it in order to make it full time. I believe it was initially a part time job.
It’s an interesting place because it was an all women’s school until recently. My guess is the school will be very willing to help bring in male students to get this thing rolling. Clearly a great location from a local talent stand point, but we’ll see how that helps

Low end or new D3 programs are a tough sell these days with the increasing acceptance of MCLA as real lacrosse.boredatwork wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:26 am Notre Dame University of Maryland just reposted their HC job, although it appears they’ve added a facilities director component to it in order to make it full time. It's hilarious how some of these colleges are named. Imagine this conversation:
Guidance Counselor: Jimmy, I understand you want to play lacrosse in college. So where are you being recruited?
Jimmy: Notre Dame
Guidance Counselor: Great! South Bend Indiana is a nice place.
Jimmy: No, Notre Dame is in Maryland
Guidance: Huh? Never heard of it. Where else?
Jimmy: Mt. St. Marys
Guidance: Great school, Emmitsburg Maryland is a beautiful place.
Jimmy: No, Mt St Marys in New York.
Guidance: There's one in New York? Where else?
Jimmy: St. Joes.
Guidance: Nice, Philly is a fun city.
Jimmy: Ugggh, no St. Josephs is in Connecticut or was it in Maine... I forget.
Guidance: There isn't really a St. Joes in Connnecticut is there? Anyone else recruiting you?
Jimmy: Penn
Guidance: Ok, now I know that's in Philly.
Jimmy: No, Penn College is in WIlliamsport Pa.
Guidance: (scratches head) Is there anywhere else?
Jimmy: Lake Forest
Guidance: I believe it's pronounced WAKE Forest Jimmy. What else is on your list?
Jimmy: I was invited to take a visit to Depauw.
Guidance: Again, Jimmy you're mispronouncing these schools. It's DePaul. Are there other schools?
Jimmy: I got an offer from Cornell yesterday.
Guidance: That's wonderful Jimmy. Ithaca is a great little college town.
Jimmy: No, Cornell is in Mt. Vernon Iowa.
Guidance: Yeah, ok sure it is. Where else Jimmy?
Jimmy: UMass Dartmouth.
Guidance: Those two schools are very different. One is Ivy league the other a big state university in Western Massachusetts.
Jimmy: No, UMass Dartmouth is one school. It's near cape cod.
Guidance: Please go see the school psychologist Jimmy.

FaceDoge, that is good stuff man. Well done
Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
I thought Corcoran would've lasted longer at Mitchell. Wonder what happened.
Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
Corcoran came from 2 nescac jobs prior to going to Mitchell. That's gotta be a major case of culture shock. It's kind of like trading in a new Mercedes for a Ford Pinto. You get spoiled with the deep pockets those schools have and then are somewhere that has little to no endowment and budgets a fraction of the size of what you're accustomed to. Add to that rumors of closure and it becomes a game of musical chairs where you get out before the music stops and there's no chair left for you.

A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.
