Coach Tillman, Curtis Corley, and Louis Dubick after the game. Apologies if the sound isn't too great.

I thought Coach Tillman in the post game interview gave credit to Towson and explained it wasn't a case of not respecting Towson as a program for dropping them from the schedule. Tillman is total class.

The Terps certainly won this one going away. ;)
At least the Terps didn't finish the season on a 3 game losing streak.

I thought the offense did pretty well, except for a few too many errant passes.
Long had 4 assists, 2 nice ones near the end. Bernhardt had a couple big goals in the 2nd half, including the game tying one. Wisnauskas had some big scores. Dubick and DeMaio did well, Dubick with the game winner. Fairman had an outstanding game with 3 goals.
Defense looked a little iffy though. Face-offs weren't too good. I thought Janeck did a nice job harassing the guy for Towson.

That was a great play for a freshman (Long) especially one who hadn’t been called on to carry the load this year.
Long could just as easily have hit the wrong (1st) cutter.
But, he didn’t, he waited and made the correct feed (on the last seconds goal).
And that was a nice play, a tip by the D man on the intercept in overtime that gave the Terps the final possession.

Towson failed to execute well at the end. How do you fail to catch an uncontested pass? Terps experience paid dividends yesterday. They executed and keep their composure

Except that is exactly what it was about....he needed to shine a light on the program in those areas that aren't aware that MD has a lacrosse team.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Terps!
They fought hard. Rallied back, as a TEAM. So proud of these boys! They have fight, grit, and faith! The dedication of Coach Tillman, and his staff, the ties the alum have to the program, and the determination of this team speaks volumes. Love these boys!
TERP NATION ... see you on Saturday!

They faced a beast. Woodall is exceptional.

He is.
There was Ierlan, then Woodall, then everyone else.

I liked Tillman's attempt at gaining some athleticism on Sunday. Hard to tell if giving O'Connell a pole worked out in a 13 goal game, but something needed to be changed. Also liked Coffman getting some run at midfield and immediately drawing a penalty after a nice move. He adds some nice quickness and seeming aggressiveness.

After so many years as rivals, can we not all agree that we are glad to be playing this game with eachother again after too long a hiatus? Regardless, of the outcome, it is great to renew this great rivalry. Good luck Terps!

I imagine different people will have different feelings. For me, it is just another game. Of course, it is an important game in the NCAA tmt. quarterfinals. This is Maryland's fifth year in the Big Ten, so I don't think any of Maryland's players have played against Virginia.

Great effort by the players today. For the first time in a decade, the coaches let 'em down.

Terps.
Supposedly, last in.
Almost made it to the Final Four.
I think that puts any doubts to rest.

Obviously, taking the air out ... last week ... Nadelen with the same mistake.

It does appear that UMd needed a different strategy against UVa. Just try to keep scoring goals.
In the end, it was probably UMd's failure at the Face-off X that really killed them.

On to next year.
Hopefully, Shockey will get back in his groove, and the new kid Calderone will be able to contribute right away on face-offs.
I'm a little concerned about the defense - long pole situation going to next year.
Offense looks strong with Bernhardt, Wisnauskas, Fairman, A.DeMaio and Long back.

it was the right move to burn clock. they failed to execute in other areas of the game.

refs were brutally cruel in their timing to blow a call.

It's enjoyable getting feedback from other knowledgable fans. If it weren't for Towson's stall ball tactic the face-off situation would have bitten Maryland last week.
I'm not saying Tillman's a bad coach he just believes in a bad tactic.

I don’t think so.
I saw this last week with Towson and Nadelen.
I think coaches are still playing catch up, playing pre shot clock, pre 2019.
But the Nadelens and Tillmans will figure out the correct end of game stategies.

umd outplayed for 55 min. played a great game, last several minutes will be brutal memory for their seniors, but they've had great success over 4 years.
and the squad will be back.

I hope a member of the media ask Tillman abut stall ball.
Towson's coach said he'd do it again because he believes in his defense.
