Wow, I guess that answers my question about whether the Bury whipping of the Martlets said more about the Bury or Westy.

I was watching without audio. What was the foul committed by Brunswick (when they had possession) that put them on that final man down?

12-11 Hill in OT. Great fightback from Wick. They clawed it back in the 4th when they were 2nd best for the other 3 qtrs. kind of feel like Hill let Wick back into the game by stomping on the brakes in the 3rd. They were dominating when they were playing on the front foot and they lost momentum when they slowed the game down. Still, Brunswick had a lot to do in the 4th to bring it level, and credit to them, they did it. Fair play to all the kids out there today. Excellent game.

Wow, wick brought in back to push to ot....nice effort.

Deerfield dominated Loomis. Not great game to watch. But green seems to be rolling.

I don't remember who it was, but he did this elaborate spinorama dodge and I'm pretty sure he used his non stick hand to push off or grab the defender.

Incredible comeback for Wick in the fourth quarter. That was the team most of us are used to watching. Unfortunately for Wick, they couldn't get it together in the first half. Hill Academy was strong in the first but when Wick came on it looked like they weren't going to be stopped. With possession in OT Wick loses ball to ward and goes man down on delay of game... Hill was obviously going to capitalize and they did. Dyson (Duke Commit) with the EMO OT winner.

Heartbreaker for Wick. As others stated, Hill came out strong HARD in the first half. Brunswick played lights out in the fourth quarter, but unfortunately, they couldn't finish it in OT. Hill is a great team, Zawada and Williams was their entire attack today and Hill's D knew everything about the Wick offense. Great game... One of the best HS lacrosse games i've ever seen!

Ginder was largely responsible for the comeback. He was unbeatable in the 4th. Hill couldn't get the ball.

Agree, that was the TO but I believe the Wick Mid then rolled the ball away (towards the GLE) so the resulting flag & EMO were for illegal procedure/delay of game. It was hard to tell on my phone but that seemed to be what the ref was signaling to the box. Great game by both teams.

Watched most of this game this game. I wasn't counting but faceoffs seemed to favor DA mostly because Loomis struggled to pick GBs, Loomis fogo gave him a battle. I have always hated that Deerfield plays on that grass despite having a turf and it definitely favored DA. Loomis ran mostly zone after they couldn't stop DA's open set offense in man. I honestly thought Loomis's offense did pretty solid when they did get a full possession but their clears were hard to watch and they could never get it to a shortie on the attacking side. Loomis's defense I thought did solid too but with so many failed clears and turnovers Loomis just never had the ball enough to have a chance.
The biggest take away I got from Loomis was that when they can possess the ball their offense is talented enough to score whether its transition or not. Loomis is good enough this year to take down some solid teams this year but need to be more effective clearing. Also definitely was not extremely impressed with DA compared to years prior talent levels.

NEW-1 fans now are getting a chance to see what the national level competition really is all about. It is great seeing NEW teams vs regional powers and the lax academies. The top national programs recently, have been the top 2 NEW, Hill, Culver, maybe IMG. Top two or 3 MIAA, The top 2 DC, and 1 or 2 Philly teams. top 2-3 ON LI, and maybe a great class at the elite publics like Nisky, Victor, or Darien in any given year. I saw CHC's first game vs Hill earlier this year, that Hill won for the 2nd year in a row in OT. It was awesome to watch such High level HS lax. I can guarantee you that CHC is a much better team now, but Hill may be as well. If the Wick and Bury programs stay where they are, their fans will quickly tire of them playing meaningless games against teams with no where near their talent and athletic level. My theory is that in order for a HS team to continue to improve, you need to play 8-10 games, at a minimum, against teams that can beat you. It is a different level of competition when teams like Hill and the MIAA teams actually take the time and effort to Scout you and take away some of the things your best players like to do. Coaching, and game plans ect. become very big issues when you see the same great competition a few times. In the past, 10+ years ago, watching NEW-1 teams I thought they had some great individual talent but were not necessarily playing great TEAM HS lax. Now I think they have raised the bar. The challenge is staying at the highest level once you reach it.

Has something happened with the Westy team? Are some key players out? The last 3 games they have hardly been able to score. 1, 3, 6 goals. And the 6 against AOF was likely generous. I think it was 15-2 after 3Q. Seems different compared to their first 5 games.

I am the exact opposite. Wish all lax games, and soccer, were played on as much “not field turf” as possible. And I fail to see how grass is inherently not a level playing field.

I think grass is good too, but that field they use is in shambles. At least do some groundskeeping on it.
