Scores late (it's a 60 minute game?) when maybe endurance comes into play?

Field hockey subs on the fly continuously. Endurance is a huge part of game strategy. Coaches like to go at least 3-4 deep in the box, if their depth allows. I am sure swart’s engine is a welcome addition.
This is what I assume is swart’s first time in a game since high school. Seems like she settled in fine.
You also have Cockrell coming back. Hopefully all the injured players will be ready to go. If they are, they should be in a good place offensively. Defense/goalie are the biggest questions in my mind.DMac wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 8:01 am Doesn't change your message but you get more than Ward back. Carney was playing at what, 60%? E. Tyrell (hopefully fully recovered but maybe not) too. Adds more to the outscoring thought but doesn't help with the D (terrible is a little harsh) question. Maddy Baxter might come back as a bigger scoring threat too, she went to the cage with more confidence in the world games, lot of potential there, not a bad D player either. Treanor's exhibition in the World Games had to have an effect on these girls, I'm thinkin' they're fired up and ready to go. Only time will tell.
They were 15-6 last year with Carney operating at best at 75%, Ward and Cockerille gone for the season, Emma Tyrrell gone for most of the season -- and all of them back presumably at 100% this year. Markey will be a year older and better. Baxter will contribute.Kleizaster wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 1:23 am Having a hard time reading this cuse team..no idea what to expect. Defensively they were terrible last year. They'll get ward back but then again they don't have a goalie. Feels like another season where they'll have to outscore their opponent.
This woman graduated high school in 2016 I don’t know her story, but turned my head when I read that 2023 will be her 7th year in college. She turns 25 in November according to her U Indy biowlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 7:37 am Sorry if this has been mentioned already..
Cuse picks up UIndy transfer Abigail Lagos - D2 Honda Athlete of the Year nominee, IWLCA Player of the Year, & Attacker of the Year
According to her bio, she redshirted freshman year in 2017, was granted a medical redshirt in 2019, then there was the COVID year in 2020.washedup wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 11:58 amThis woman graduated high school in 2016 I don’t know her story, but turned my head when I read that 2023 will be her 7th year in college. She is ridiculously talented and I would not be surprised if she takes a current attackers place . Who imo was a bad takewlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 12:30 pmAccording to her bio, she redshirted freshman year in 2017, was granted a medical redshirt in 2019, then there was the COVID year in 2020.washedup wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 11:58 amThis woman graduated high school in 2016 I don’t know her story, but turned my head when I read that 2023 will be her 7th year in college. If Taylor Gait had played during the pandemic she likely would have been in a similar situation, but since she did not her career, hampered with knee injuries, was only 6 years long.
Same goes for Loyola's Katrina Geiger who played her freshman season in 2013, medically redshirted 2014, played 2015, medically redshirted 2016 after playing 1 game, and played 2017 & 2018.
Somewhat similarly, UNC Men's Lacrosse had a 21 year old freshman back in 2016. He was a part of the 2014 recruiting class but, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, elected to go on a mission prior to attending college.
And those examples are pre-COVID.
It's definitely unusual, but you're right, we can't know someone's whole story. At the end of the day, everyone gets their 4 full years of in-season competition & no one can sue the NCAA because they didn't.
Never seen the u Indy transfer play, but still SMH about the Cuse transfer double dip last season.Cagekeeper wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 1:50 pmShe is ridiculously talented and I would not be surprised if she takes a current attackers place . Never seen her play and I’m sure she’s good. However, playing teams like Frostburge, Findlay and Rockhurst is definitely different then playing teams like BC, UNC and NW. I guess time will tell.watcherinthewoods wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 2:50 pmNever seen the u Indy transfer play, but still SMH about the Cuse transfer double dip last season.Cagekeeper wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 1:50 pmShe is ridiculously talented and I would not be surprised if she takes a current attackers place .
