Virginia’s new Olympic Sports complex. Topping ceremony: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u9fHT9WvZuw.

Becomes operational next year. UVA will undoubtedly have the most elite lacrosse facilities in the country. Lars was quoted as saying it’s a recruiting game changer.

Little known fact is that Jay Connor is Fred Smith’s nephew. Think Hopkins could have used him?
My dad '54 played with Bill and Gordon. Though Pop was a freshman so just scrub squad with Bill, they became lifelong friends.

Gordon was Uncle Gordon to me, my dad's longtime hunting partner and real estate business parter.
Gordon was severely dyslexic and really couldn't read or do math, so was abused by his dad as 'lazy', but pushed through school because of his athletic prowess...graduated from UVA still not being able to do either...but very smart and creative guy. He was probably the most important mover and shaker at creating the Odyssey School move and expansion to the St. Tim's property.

I was in Florida, so didn't make the reception at the Hall of Fame for Bill Hooper but my mom did and said it was wonderful.

Fred Smith was a coaching God. Hop players loved him but then so did players on other teams.

Kudos to anyone who made it through the U with a reading problem. I’m a decent reader and barely graduated. I know not all majors require the amount of reading that English and history do, but back then there were general education requirements that required a fair amount of reading. Congratulations to him on plugging away.

It's early to say, but he has a good chance at being short sticked until proven differently on a Line with Schutz, Colsey and Boyden if he returns. Of course, we don't know what attack will look like yet, besides Millon, so some one there might get shorted instead.

And if so, he's proven to be a scorer, right?

Does UVA actually have trouble recruiting? Nice facilities are special, but it's not as if they don't already capture a healthy percentage of elite recruits.

Now they'll get 5 5 stars and 5 4 stars instead of 5 5 stars and 4 4 stars....

Very nice. Recruiting is the least of UVA's issues.

The recruiting landscape is changing with NIL and the jury is still out on its impact. UNC continues to underperform on the field, but recruits very well. Yes, it's a great college destination, but NIL has made them a potent recruiting force. There are some schools with pretty good Football and basketball tradition who already know how to play that game and have a leg up on others. It will be interesting to see the impact as NIL deals in the non revenue sports are still in the early stages of what they might become..

The anger was absurd and one of Lars former Brown teammates finally said as much on that thread on this site. The kid should go where he is happy. Virginia has flipped players and had them flipped from them. The kids ultimately need to go where they are happy and the fit is right.
