It happens. Unfortunately, gotta stick up for your kids if they are in harms way.

Scoring 31 goals in a game is not appropriate.

Agree, but it does happen in JUCO on occasion due to the sometimes huge talent/depth disparity among teams:

As someone who has been on both sides of the scoreboard in the "30 goal argument", I can see it from both view points.

OCC (back in the day) had running clocks, starters out in the first quarter, emptied their bench, and still put 30 on teams without a sweat.

Not saying it's their fault, as it is tough to tell a 3rd, 4th or 5th line guy to not score in the 2nd or 3rd quarter.

I was told, in certain games, they stopped counting goals on the scoreboard after 30-34 goals were scored, even though play continued.

I can see it’s a problem in JUCO, and hard to control

It sucks but you cannot tell kids to stop playing. For some it may be the one chance to show something especially if the team is deep.

Game really wasn't that close. Have to clean up the penalties!

Congrats to the Owls. Final 4 here they come. 2 week wait though :?

Calling it a rout seems a bit much. Yes Harford jumped out to 5-1 lead, but it was 7-4 at half and 10-6 after Q3, before Owls scored next four to squash Knights comeback hopes. FOs, GBs, TOs, shots were all about even. Harford goalie had another great game with 21 (!) saves on some uneven shooting by Essex offense. Essex D adjustments for this third match-up of the season kept the game competitive for the first 45+ minutes and a hot day for Essex goalie (vs just 8 saves) would have made it really interesting.

Harford plays good team ball on D and in transition, gets scoring from lots of sources, has great goalie play, and looks like good chance to beat Nassau. Will be interesting to see how winner of Essex/AACC quarterfinal game does vs Nassau in semis.

Watching the game, it didn't feel like Harford was in any danger of losing and was in control the whole way.

Sets up for an interesting tourney with Harford, Essex, and Howard getting top three seeds, with Essex v Howard Round 3 likely in one semi (Genesee lost ita three games vs Top 5 teams by 37 combined goals) and Harford v. Nassau/Onondaga winner in the other.

Congrats to Harford on another Region XX title, beating Essex 13-4 yesterday to get the region’s AQ to the national tournament.

I think this was the 4th region XX title in a row for Harford.

National tournament going to be an absolute battle. Lots of evenly matched teams this year.
