Attended a municipal game last night - made many new pals among the hockey moms from both teams who asked me to root for their team. The place was packed wall-to-wall with folks who enjoy a good game of old style youth hockey. Can you believe the league allows more stick checking and physical contact than the NHL allows nowadays! Got another game to go to this afternoon. And the season is only just beginning ...

Why do I occasionally get the feeling that posts don't always meet reality?

Loads of youth hockey (both scholastic + municipal league) being played in Lake Wobegone & am planning a three day weekend of it. Also planning on making a no bake ricotta pie (will likely use only 4 ingredients ~ ricotta, chocolate fudge, crust made of crushed walnuts + rice chex). Watch Army-Navy game.

Temperatures expected to be in the low 20s with slight breeze ~ ideal for life in the tundra.

Hopefully not watching Maria Sharapova at the Australian Open. Her grunting makes it 100% unwatchable. Currently in a fierce match with Caroline Wozniacki but I just can't stand it!
