Yeesh, Team USA totally outclassed in that final. In a discipline where athleticism is at a premium you would think guys like Justin Anderson, Brad Smith, or Schellenberger would have been an obvious choice over homer picks Brandau and Tevlin (or Guterding for that matter). I guess it’s a learning experience but really poor roster construction.

When the IOC is involved, don't turn over any rocks if you're at all squeamish.
As to the design of the game, I'm o.k. with it as a legit way to get nontrad, smaller population nations up, running, and competitive in a decent timeframe. Personally I wouldn't want decades of USA/Canada (maybe also Haudenosaunee occasionally) as every olympic final if the Olympics were just to use the college or international field game format. This may be the result anyway

It's really not all that surprising that Canada dominated, when Sixes is essentially box lacrosse played outside with a bigger goal and smaller goalie (way less pads). This is a format that very much favors the Canadian player.

Yes. I don’t understand it. Isn’t box lacrosse “international”? I have no idea how box on grass is supposed to “spread the game”.

Even the Iroquois, after the debacle of their lack of inclusion in the sixes World Games - they were allowed to compete under the "new Olympic rules for what's an independent Olympics-eligible nation but only after the IOC required an up-front $20,000 fee for them to join the organization.

IOC like FIFA is a totally corrupt worldwide organization essentially laundering money using amateur sports as a cover.

The admission charge for Lacrosse's entry was to invent a new but bogus game still called lacrosse...allegedly.

You may be right, but in a conversation with the president (at the time) of USL over lunch five years ago, he made it a point of emphasis that everything they were doing was geared towards getting the sport in the Olympics. They felt it was a large step towards legitimizing the sport (and also their spending, although this parenthetical was my interpretation). He was shocked when I told him I couldn't care less if the sport made it to the Olympics, that I was more focused on making sure the thousands of youth playing were well served instead of the 25 players who would play in the Olympics.

One of the '22s we should be seeing soon is midfielder / attackmen Brody Coleman.

Hard to predict how he will do at Yale, but Shay is certainly bringing in some talented young men. The soccer and basketball part makes me think that he could have the footwork to develop into a top SSDM, but that's pure speculation on my part.

I have a feeling this is the only avenue for lacrosse to be included in the Olympics and as such I'll register a thumbs up. I've watched a bit of it and find it entertaining in spite of the signficant differences with the ten man game. I watch all the college lacrosse I can get my eyes on, and love almost every minute of it, but as for the rest of what I am offered as a lacrosse enthusiast I will be more likely to watch sixes if they get included as an Olympic sport than I currently do PLL and NLL games
