I can’t watch it. It’s like watching a televised soccer “sidie”. Just awful.
I haven't seen any. No interest in watching, really, although I hope Brandau doesn't get injured. He's playing with some very good teammates like Ryan Conrad, which I hope will help Matt improve from a tremendous 2022 season that I don't think got the recognition it deserved.
Matt will be fine either way.

Yeesh, Team USA totally outclassed in that final. In a discipline where athleticism is at a premium you would think guys like Justin Anderson, Brad Smith, or Schellenberger would have been an obvious choice over homer picks Brandau and Tevlin (or Guterding for that matter). I guess it’s a learning experience but really poor roster construction.

Perhaps they will consult with you next time BigTom, I imagine your services aren’t spoken for.

Was this that “Sixies” game? I don’t understand it. Somewhere along the line, there must be a financial angle for someone behind the push.

When the IOC is involved, don't turn over any rocks if you're at all squeamish.
As to the design of the game, I'm o.k. with it as a legit way to get nontrad, smaller population nations up, running, and competitive in a decent timeframe. Personally I wouldn't want decades of USA/Canada (maybe also Haudenosaunee occasionally) as every olympic final if the Olympics were just to use the college or international field game format. This may be the result anyway
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's really not all that surprising that Canada dominated, when Sixes is essentially box lacrosse played outside with a bigger goal and smaller goalie (way less pads). This is a format that very much favors the Canadian player.

Yes. I don’t understand it. Isn’t box lacrosse “international”? I have no idea how box on grass is supposed to “spread the game”.

The rationale was this would get lax into the Olympics.

You mean a sport with sticks, a ball, and a goal. I am only one person but I find it unwatchable.

Brutal. This is all US Lacrosse in their never ending striving to get the sport into the Olympics. I think they would even be happy if it was just a lacrosse video game at this point.

Money talks. IMHO USA Lacrosse's myopic interest is not the Olympics per se'. That's going to be, at best, a one off in Los Angeles in 2028. The real reason to "re-invent" lacrosse is to be a part of the IOC and to have access to the money train that comes with it. Nobody is immune - ask the Gymnastics folks what it ultimately got them - immense corruption and enabling a known child predator for YEARS. Even the Iroquois, after the debacle of their lack of inclusion in the sixes World Games - they were allowed to compete under the "new Olympic rules for what's an independent Olympics-eligible nation but only after the IOC required an up-front $20,000 fee for them to join the organization.
IOC like FIFA is a totally corrupt worldwide organization essentially laundering money using amateur sports as a cover.
The admission charge for Lacrosse's entry was to invent a new but bogus game still called lacrosse...allegedly.

You may be right, but in a conversation with the president (at the time) of USL over lunch five years ago, he made it a point of emphasis that everything they were doing was geared towards getting the sport in the Olympics. They felt it was a large step towards legitimizing the sport (and also their spending, although this parenthetical was my interpretation). He was shocked when I told him I couldn't care less if the sport made it to the Olympics, that I was more focused on making sure the thousands of youth playing were well served instead of the 25 players who would play in the Olympics.

He apparently bought into the snake oil the IOC has been selling everyone on for over a century now.
Good for you to understand the real issues for the sport of lacrosse. No surprise it was lost on the person you were talking to.

One of the '22s we should be seeing soon is midfielder / attackmen Brody Coleman.
"When Brody Coleman was in preschool, he stood on the sidelines of his older brothers’ lacrosse games donning a Spiderman costume.
He didn’t know what lacrosse equipment was or what was going on in the game he was watching. He didn’t know that his Spiderman costume, which he wore to impress his older brother and their friends, wasn’t traditional lacrosse attire.
All he knew was the game piqued his interest.
Nearly 15 years later, Coleman is the latest member of his family to climb the ranks of Cazenovia High School’s lacrosse program, following the footsteps of his two siblings and his father, Clay.
The first eighth-grader to play varsity lacrosse at Cazenovia, Coleman entered his junior season in contact with 23 Division-I programs, including Syracuse. He committed to Yale on Sept. 12."

“With his work ethic that is what really set him kinda above the bar. One of the best captains we’ve had in our program and this his second year as captain which is a rarity as well,” says head coach Dave Falge.
His other HS sports were soccer and basketball. 5' 11" 175, 4.0 GPA.
Hard to predict how he will do at Yale, but Shay is certainly bringing in some talented young men. The soccer and basketball part makes me think that he could have the footwork to develop into a top SSDM, but that's pure speculation on my part.

I have a feeling this is the only avenue for lacrosse to be included in the Olympics and as such I'll register a thumbs up. I've watched a bit of it and find it entertaining in spite of the signficant differences with the ten man game. I watch all the college lacrosse I can get my eyes on, and love almost every minute of it, but as for the rest of what I am offered as a lacrosse enthusiast I will be more likely to watch sixes if they get included as an Olympic sport than I currently do PLL and NLL games
