As just received from the HC via email:

"Friends of Hopkins Lacrosse,

We are excited to announce that the Hopkins Lacrosse Alumni Weekend will be taking place on Friday, October 5th and Saturday, October 6th. As you all know, this is a wonderful opportunity to bring together our lacrosse family during the fall.

We hope to have another fantastic turn out for the alumni game this year and strongly encourage alums from all eras to consider playing in the game. Following the alumni game, please join us at the tent party where we will honor the 2017 Hopkins Men's Lacrosse team and present the players with Big Ten Championship Rings.

Registration is now open. You can sign up for the weekend by clicking on the links below."

Anyone in touch with CC, HA80, et al? Some of the regulars from the LaxPower thread haven't made it here yet. Perhaps that's intentional

The NAG Jay makes a triumphant return this fall. These are slick:

The ol' triple post. No I'm not proud of it.

With the boulder of salt that, no, these rankings do not actually matter, it can still be helpful for fans to keep track off/keep an eye some of the upcoming talent. Of course, this is only some of them.

#47 Michael Gomez (Defense)
#65 Alex Gainey (Goalie)
#92 Alex Mabbett (Midfield)

Rising seniors:
#22 Blake Rodgers (Defense)
#47 Owen Murphy (Attack)
#77 Jacob Angelus (Attack)
#81 Tim Marcille (Goalie)
#82 Jack Ruddy (Defense)
#97 Quinn Chambers (Midfield)

Rising juniors:
#17 Casey McDermott (Attack)
#46 Blake Brookes (Defense)
#50 Dylan Bauer (Attack)
#51 Scott Smith (Defense)
#66 Brett Martin (Midfield)
#70 Isaac Tallino (Midfield)
#73 Jakson Raposo (Midfield)
#83 Johnathan Peshko (Midfield)

Guess I'll just keep posting. Now I know how Wombat feels.

Scrimmage AT Marquette on Feb. 2 is official.

No college team has more helmet-art designs than Hop. The 2019 version pictured looks good. I didn't care much for 2016 version worn against Penn State in Pennsylvania.

Marquette does have a dome facility, though I don't know if the scrimmage will be played in it. Might actually be good to get some of the freshmen who have never played in that kind of environment at least one awful freezing 20-degree game under their belts before the real stuff starts. As long as it doesn't increase the risk of injury.

Just as a data point, I live in Madison WI and last Feb. 2 the high was 18 and the low was -1. I'm happy to be able to go to a scrimmage, but whoever thought this was a good idea??

Scrimmage is at a facility where a dome is available, and I'd be very willing to bet the dome will be used.

Just bought my plane ticket to Albany on Oct. 13. Still awaiting scrimmage times for Jays.

I just had a Being John Malkovich flashback.

We should do a Being Wombat parody.

If you all could enter a wormhole and experience Wombat Life,
first, would you dare do it?
second, pay for it?
third, what would you hope to see?

Promise you, you’d see some wild stuff and probably be forever warped, but for the better.

How does one get to be Mod Emeritus? And, of course, salutations!

Thanks for setting this up! I promise I will try to be more positive

I would hope to see him trading witticisms with 45WeWantMore.

Or, at least chatting about the weather.

No mention of AJ Haugen in the next class of inductees to the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame? I will always remember witnessing him rallying the Jays past Princeton during one of the most miserable rainy and cold days I ever had sitting in the stands at Class of '52 Stadium in 1999. The opening game that season, it was played on March 6th. The good old days. Sigh. The ceremony is scheduled for September 29th.

I’m not an actual moderator, nor have I ever been one. It’s a reference to an old joke, probably in late 2015, when the previous Moderator said he’d make me a Moderator at LP if Trump won.

I’m still waiting, the previous Moderator.

So I coined Moderator, Emeritus as a tag line.

I have nothing to do with this site. MatnumPI has 100% of the credit for that.

I put Mod Emeritus as part of my username to continue the joke, but someone flipped out last week on another thread. Think the perp is a UVa fan.

I’m here to have fun and maintain the personal connections - mostly Hopkins and Navy.
Going to post a lot more infrequently but try to stay in contact via PMs.

Damn, great cat photo!!!! That’s going on my wall at work. Just below my National Hurricane Center magnet.

The Jays scrimmaged Japan's Waseda University today on the practice field. Looks like Epstein is wearing Shack's #32 jersey. Jake Lilly, a freshman middie from Severn, looks like he's about 7 feet tall. Clips and photos on the team's Instagram story: https://www.instagram.com/stories/jhumenslax
