So Myers and Sutherland are returning for an extra year. This will give Michigan quite a bit more experience on the offensive end.

It will be great having Myers back, since he was the #1 Middie going into last season but was unable to play due to injury. It will really help the Midfield having these guys back for another year along with grad transfer Papa. If Michigan can get the ball, they will score a bunch of goals, with Clay, Mack, and Zawada at Attack along with a more mature Midfield. F/O and Defense will be their questions going into 2021. Word is, that freshman Boehm had a great Fall and brings great skillset to the team this year

Of course, Michigan also has Buckinavage back.

Sutherland and Avery will be a plus for Michigan. Still, overall, the coronavirus epidemic has probably been detrimental to Michigan with respect to the Big Ten. Firstly, it has allowed a number of the other teams to stay strong through extra year seniors, I.e., PSU, OSU, Rutgers. Secondly, Michigan was on a youth movement last spring and it didn't allow Michigan's freshmen to get a full season under their belts. I think Michigan might have been looked at as one of the top competitors in the Big Ten this coming spring had coronavirus not shown up.

I will say it again. Let's see if Michigan can take that next step this year:

appearing in the four-team Big Ten Tournament

Michigan will make the BIG 10 tourney this year. In fact every team will make the conference tourney this year. 10 game in conference schedule is just a live scout preparation and seeding for the all inclusive tourney and chance at AQ. You heard it here first.

This has been rumored for weeks. The question is how will the conference only schedule help/hurt the at-large spots.

only if they change the selection criteria. which of course wouldn't be new.

if they don't, some other league(s) slip in as the #2 (and probably #3) best leagues. that's how rpi works. there are only 0s and 1s, w's and l's.

Michigan supporters think maybe this is the worst schedule you could hope for? All BIG10?

Sadly, it is looking like yet another sub .500 season for the Wolverines.

This conversation about when Michigan will finally break through goes back a LONG time (The great Laxpower John Paul debates). It looked like Michigan was getting over the hump in 2018 during Conry's first season when they went 8-6 with some impressive wins. But even then, they only had one conference win. Without a schedule loaded with third-tier teams, this team has struggled to get over .500 in any season (They are 37-53 since 2014 taking on an OOC schedule filled with cupcakes).

This year will be a tough year for Michigan. The conference is just packed with talent, especially with a ton of studs returning and transferring in to Maryland, Ohio State, Rutgers, Penn State and even Hopkins. Maybe next year?

Let's see if they can at least make it somewhat close vs. Maryland.

If you don't think you can win, you never will. Positive thoughts only! This season will invariably have ups and downs, especially with the young defensive -side of the team, but we will score goals if we get the ball!

Yep! Awesome call with positive thoughts only! I am looking forward to the season. Once again, while, obviously, the program wants the best results possible, Michigan's first appearance in the Big Ten Tournament would be nice.
