Good question. 2020-2029. My guess is that/those team(s) will be...
Duke or Duke and Maryland.

The decade is 2021-2030. Don't jump the gun.

However, the Gregorian calendar begins with the year AD 1. (There was no year "zero", and the year before AD 1 is 1 BC with nothing in between.) Therefore, the first decade is from AD 1 to AD 10, the second decade from AD 11 to AD 20, and so on.[5] So, although "the 1960s" comprises the years 1960 to 1969, the years 1961 to 1970 comprise "the 197th decade" in the Gregorian calendar.

The name should be changed. Gregorian was a slave owner.......or dealt with slaves......or....just change the name already

"Gregorian" is an adjective, not anybody's name.

And still, after all is said and done, "Loyola" remains the answer to this thread's question.

Wake up lax people. Season upon season of being the #1 college team in Bawlmer, Teewartons, a stadium to die for, fans you enjoy being with, #1 AA goalies, upcoming multiple NC's...get on board the Hounds' train before we leave you behind, left to cheer for let's just say 'lesser', light-blue, sad, or even bird-named programs. I can not think of any right now, but surely there must be such programs out there.

Remember this name: Eric Pacheco. You shall be reading about him often over the next 4 years.

And finally, a hearty welcome to our newest 2019 Icelandic female soccer recruits: Lea Kristjánsdóttir and Arín Sigfúsdóttir! Crush 'em, gals!

It is, of course, an eponymic adjective.

Well, it is the off-season.

And on-topic: If I were a voter in this poll, I would go for Duke, but were I a bettor, I would box an exacta with Duke and UMD, but I can bring myself to do neither.

I would have said "eponymous," but also agree with your point. Maryland and Duke sound like reasonable picks, although the way Lars has turned the ship around makes me think UVa wouldn't be a bad choice.

Gregorian schmegregorian....what's important is if anyone is keeping track of all this so we can come back in a couple of lustrums to see who called it right.
Hope you're on this, Admin.

Agreed. UVA and UNC were honorable mentions for me but... It's so hard to check their box when they've had so much talent for so long and have accomplished so little (relative to this talent). But, obviously, Lars is a major change and... UVA most certainly could equal if not top Duke and UMd.

So there's no confusion, I'm not. I'm most certainly not.

I’ll still take Duke with O’Neill. He is not going to dominate in college like at St. A because he won’t have such a pronounced size advantage. But good lord, he is going to be a force of nature and skill. Add in the other great classes they have coming and they could get 2 in the next 5. And then Danowski retires and it might slow down but in this day and age I don’t see anyone winning 3 in 10.

I don't think that some team winning 3 in 10 is that unlikely. There are a number of teams that seem to maintain themselves in the top 10 and are often in the top 5. I think that it is probably as likely as not (around 50%) that some team will win 3 (or more) title in the 10 year period.

Yes, UVa is always an excellent choice, but until NoVA becomes a hot-bed they do not benefit from in-state tuition to the degree that UMD does, and for the deep-pocketed, I think Duke retains the most attractive brand outside the Ivys.

And why I chose eponymic:
As adjectives the difference between eponymic and eponymous is that eponymic is of or relating to an eponym while eponymous is of, relating to, or being the person or entity after which something or someone is named.
