It's getting hung on Acosta for obvious reasons - rich guy got away with "murder"

It's getting hung on Trump for two reasons - he was known to pal around with Epstein and another example of poor vetting in the hiring of Acosta.
That said, absolutely hold all the enablers accountable.

I quite agree with Salty that we should want to know who leaned on Acosta, who leaned on others.
But the MSM criticism is BS. Unless, of course we find that editors killed stories at the request of muckety mucks.
Found.....not find. Already has happened.
Citation?
Again, nail all the enablers.

Epstein’s influential allies have included a dream team of defense lawyers, such as Dershowitz; former Clinton special prosecutor Kenneth Starr; and leading white-collar defense attorneys Lefcourt, Roy Black and Jay Lefkowitz. ...Acosta called the defense team “an army of legal superstars” and said their “year-long assault” on prosecutors led him to back away from pressing federal charges against Epstein.
Sheesh, why do you persist in the defense of these guys?

The DOJ was intimidated? Even then they had more than 30 victims.
But yeah, money buys you a dream team defense.
It would have been a battle, for sure.
But when you have 30 victims, a serial predator, you know there are more victims.
So, you work the case, not give a guy a slap on the wrist and say please don't rape any children any more.

Good bye. Hopefully we see a line of perverts headed to jail....but of course some old men can be exonerated for having sex with children when the charges don’t stick.

As I said a day ago, Acosta's resignation should not be allowed to be a sweeping under the rug of what we really happened. What really matters is who all the enablers and protectors of Epstein were, who leaned politically on his behalf to get him the sweetheart deal? Who knew of his predations and stayed silent, knew and partied along side him gleefully?

I'm watching Acosta posit how WONDERFUL THE ECONOMY IS. FULL STOP. That triggered an absurd rant from the VSG that included shots at the ineptitude of "baby" Ryan, Schumer, 9-year-old criminals, corrupt judges, printing citizenship questions on survey forms, Lindsey Graham's comments about the British envoy, the incompetence of DiBlasio, the NYT the enemy of the people, claimed HE got "veterans choice' passed(?) something that hadn't been accomplished in 44 years, kicked Epstein out of Mar A Lago, explained the academic achievements of Acosta while at Harvard EVEN THOUGH HE WAS HISPANIC, defended Nancy Pelosi from the hatred she received from her people, among other bon mots.

I suspect even James Joyce would have been confused. ;)

After watching today's Grand Guignol performance, the many Fanlax vermin that despise women, love Epstein and what he stands for, are devout Christians, blame the media for their false reporting, and have their noses stuck in the VSG's rectum will soldier on.

It's time for the Fanlax brethren to rally the righteous and redouble your collective efforts to keep Jews, Darkies, Spics, Libruls, Homos and those scary WOMEN from displacing the finest protoplasmic entity to ever LEAD our nation.

GO GET 'EM BOYS!

There are current investigations going on in several other countries of this POS. Acosta probably can’t be prosecuted which is unfortunate. Anyone think Trump wasn’t involved with this directly or indirectly is in my view in denial. Recall Trump Models? Trump escorts,? Trunp’s Private party with Epstein and 28 very young girls? Trump and the teen beauty contest ?

The whole Epstein thing brings back memories of Arthur Shawcross. The prosecutors in Watertown gave him a plea deal for murdering 2 young boys. Shawcross served 14 years of a 25 year sentence. He promptly moved to Rochester where he started a new hobby of strangling prostitutes. He murdered 11 more women before he was caught. This is not uncommon for many prosecutors in a wide variety of cases. What you can prove at trial is not always that cut and dried. Often times prosecutors will offer a plea bargain if they dont think they can convict in court. Often times in rape cases the victims are extermely reluctant to testify in open court and relive the ordeal all over again. Often times prosecutors are in a no win situation... damned if you do... damned if you don't. I read of this happening all the time where I live. Nobody likes it but no prosecutor wants to prosecute a case they don't think they can win. Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt can be very hard to prove in a court of law in front of 12 jurors that you have to convince.

Nope. He overruled the local prosecutor who has said there was MORE than enough evidence to convict. Plus there were his omissions. He never went after Epstein's computer for example. And there is the evidence in the public domain. More than enough

So, you work the case, not give a guy a slap on the wrist and say please don't rape any children any more.
So why didn't FL work the case ? It should have been a lot easier to convict on at least 1 straight forward statutory rape case, & put Epstein away for a long time, than to prove a complex interstate commercial sex trafficking case.
If evidence surfaced implicating others, that couldn't be pursued under state charges, then go with a Fed prosecution.

Sheesh, why do you persist in attacking anyone who disagrees with you ?
You're too close minded to even consider, or tolerate, anything that does not fit your preconceived notion.
I'm not defending Acosta. I'm showing the answer to the question that everyone's asking, & that MSM is blowing off,
even though the answer is buried in their coverage.

It's obvious -- Acosta didn't want to prosecute because he feared he was likely to lose.
He concluded he was legally outgunned & he'd end up just like William Kennedy Smith's prosecutor had.
Look what Roy Black did to his accuser. How many of the victims were willing to endure that ?

If it was such a slam dunk case, why couldn't the FL State's Atty get a FL Grand Jury to indict on at least 1 statutory rape.
Acosta at least got Epstein off the street, on the sex offender registry & secured some restitution for the victims.
That's more than FL prosecutors could do on several straight forward statutory rape cases.
That would have been a lot easier to prove than sex trafficking.
Epstein wasn't running a commercial sex operation.
He was a serial rapist & predator.

Because he was the DOJ. In this cases DOJ makes the final call that is why

Because statements like"it is obvious he did not want to prosecute because he thought he would lose" is foolish. It is why he no longer has a job. His Friday presser was filled with lies and distortions. Further is sweetheart plea deal was an gross aberration and illegal.

Here's the answer :
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/jeffrey- ... vTkJ-Q73Nd

2005: Reported to police by a 14-year-old girl and her parents

The teenager said in March 2005 that she was taken by a peer to Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion, where she says he paid her to give him a massage. An ensuing police investigation signaled that Epstein was in contact with multiple girls, and his staff said the girls visited frequently.

May 2006: Charged with multiple counts of unlawful sex acts with a minor

The state attorney at the time, Barry Krischer, referred the case to a grand jury. A grand jury heard from just two of the dozen-plus girls law enforcement had gathered as witnesses, the Miami Herald reported, and returned an indictment of one count of soliciting prostitution.

July 2006: Referred to the FBI for investigation

Under pressure from Palm Beach police, who were unhappy with the state’s handling of its case against Epstein, the FBI launched its own investigation.
Here's all the gory details of what Epstein's legal team did to destroy the case at the local level & attempts to intimidate the State's Attorney & PB Police. The State's Attorneys caved, the police persisted. It also describes how Epstein's legal team attacked some of the victims in civil trials.
https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/ ... 10674.html
Epstein's high priced legal team overran Acosta & his prosecutors, just as they had the locals.
