I remember Wroxeter well. When I was assisting my father at Dulaney I was a counselor at an elementary school in Dundalk. When Dulaney played teams o the west side, I’d just go to Towson and scout. Wroxeter-THS was quite a game.

What years was your dad at Dulaney?
I played Hero's between junior and senior years with a bunch of Dulaney guys on my team, really fun bunch and excellent players.

Relevant to Hop thread, one was Kevin Kilner.

Wroxeter Mansion was recently sold. For many years it was owned by an oral surgeon I believe. It was about 33 rooms on the Severn River. Great location for a school.

Matt Collison had 6 goals and 9 points in his OJLL game tonight and is now leading the league in goals per game by a significant margin.

Koleton Marquis is 5th in the league in total points and 3rd on a per-game basis.

Eric McDonald only has 3 pts in 9 games but did get in quite the tilt recently. Not many punches landed but think he got the better of the engagement: https://www.instagram.com/p/CthTNQDgUhe/?hl=en

Watched a bit of Sorichetti last night. He looks good. Has 26 pts in 5 games and is on pace to far surpass his point totals from last summer.

hey now, the Hopkins thread has [low] standards -- anything that keeps the page count up is fair game.

Freshmen ssdms who throw punches at 21 year old hockey players. Love this.

Good article on Degnon. Doesn't look like he'll be back.

Cuse's top SSDM Brandon Aviles is transferring in: https://twitter.com/tyxanders/status/16 ... 6091102212

Good size, super athletic, has shown some ability off the ground (32 GBs in 14 games in 2022). Makes the rope unit more athletic. Don't think he cracks the top pairing of Martin/Jaronski but maybe he slides into the second group alongside Raposo. Should add some pop on the wings and in the clearing game.

He's also the same kid who put a real late hit on Evans after his goal that put the Jays up 10-9 in the Dome this year. So...maybe there's some aggressiveness there that needs to be controlled. But there are worse qualities for a d-mid to have than playing with an edge. He owes Ryan a drink when he gets to campus.

Jays fans can watch him alongside Melendez for Team Puerto Rico at the world championships starting next week. And like Melendez he's battled some injuries in his career but has lots of upside when healthy.

Let's hope he works out as well as the last Ward Melville alum to transfer in.

press box might be the most underrated outlet that covers Hopkins lacrosse. they do a great job with these profiles of the kids and the sport and have for awhile.

degnon was a winner on and off the field.

I thought ince held up well for a 4th ssdm this year. raposo was one of the best stories. was also looking forward to seeing eric mcdonald and some of that aggressive snarl from that video on the box lacrosse ig site.

They’re doing a nice job of filling holes and cracks. What else is there? Maybe a fogo?

the "biggest hole" from this year was the offense slowing down in the second/third periods. they need to be able to play 60 minutes offensively, crawley needs to make faster in game adjustments, and they need to be able to knock teams out when they're given the chance. His development and maturity as a coach is a major deal going into next year. He's competent, but he needs to be elite to win a title.

The Jays outscored opponents 65-48 in the 3rd quarter this season. They scored more goals in the 3rd than in any other quarter.

How do you tie your shoes every day? Do you use velcro?

my useless thoughts:
- Crawley's offense averaged about a goal more a game than last year - i still believe he had way more talent to work with - and fewer long term injuires - but he did a good job and all reports are the kids love to play for him. IMO - the hole in the castle was EMO - 34% was 4 percentage points less than the reported dysfunctional 2022 offense. You have kids that can pass and shoot - it should be better.
- While it certainly appears from the article Hopkins request for an additional year for Degnon was denied - it is interesting he is still in the Carey business school and they have not done a thank you twitter post as done for Narewski/Krampf and Marcille. It certainly seemed a long shot - especially if Petro never filed anything but I think it shows they tried or are still trying.
- Anybody that said PM doesn't mine the portal aggressively can pretty much shut their pie hole
- Didn't really mean to start the Ierlan swirl - let's hope he avoids the Yale like game at the wrong moment.
