Good memory, YA. Sadly he’s no longer in law enforcement. His wife took a promotion and they moved from AZ to NJ in Nov 2019. Civil service restrictions in NJ (no reciprocity with other states) meant he had to test into the system, but by the time the 2020 testing was to occur the testing was shut down due to COVID. With the amount of time necessary to test, go through the hiring process interviews and tests, and the entire state academy and not just the law classes because of the lack of reciprocity, he was too old to be eligible. (Ironically NJ waives the age restriction for veterans but not previous law enforcement. You can be a cook or truck driver in the military but eleven years of law enforcement in a different state means nothing.) So he had to change careers. Just this weekend he told me he’d rather be making half of what he does now if he could be back doing what he loved. I told him to pocket all the “extra” money he’s making now, retire ten years earlier to do what he really loves - go fishing.youthathletics wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 8:01 amNo argument there, SClax, In fact, the discussion IS out of respect for elders and higher risk individuals. Wow.....not sure I like that NJ non-reciprocity rule. Have something similar in our area regarding state licensing board. You can carry a license in MD, and VA & DC will accept reciprocity, but of course WV will not....only accepting reciprocity with Alabama....go figure. Would not be surprised if it harkens back to some unwritten intent to protect family/legacy.SCLaxAttack wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 8:38 amGood memory, YA. Sadly he’s no longer in law enforcement. Right. Your posts are clear and perfect, and you never vague post.
If you're so interested in information, ask a virologist if they'd prefer a 95% vaccine rate or a 60% vaccine rate during a pandemic.
Taking a wild guess, what would you expect them to say? Flooding the market with disinformation drops the number, tech.
Oh, I remember. Flood the market with information. The problem is, you don't understand that that doesn't help in a pandemic.
Use this line of thinking for the MMR vaccine. Pre-2020? Those vaccine rates were 90%+, regardless of demographic. Take that MMR vaccine, and give it the Covid Vaccine treatment-----1,000 different stories from 1,000 different doctors, claiming everything from autism to microchips to sterility, to myocarditis. Flood parents with all this "information" that you think is great.
Then step back, and watch what happens to MMR vaccine rates. How far do you think the vaccine rate would fall, Tech? And then we get polio, mumps, measles, rubella to come back to America. MAGA, right?
You are deaf to any downside to your ideas. Take a look at the death rates in poor counties in the US versus the rich ones. Take a good look and ask yourself what happened. Or don't. Whatever floats your boat.
There's the charm! Apologies, I keep forgetting you post flawlessly, and don't give us a vague statement that's directed at....nothing in particular.
Right. Americans are never fooled by what they see on the internet. Obama's a muslim, the election was faked, and there's a conspiracy to protect Hunter Biden.
Hopkins puts the global death toll at 6,8 million. If you had to guess, how many do you suppose didn't have access to a doctor?

Re: All things CoronaVirus
I didn’t use my sarcasm font. In the middle of a shut down, the hospitals were full of elderly and folks with co-morbidities (as if people with co-morbidities don’t work). Your logic implies that the elderly should have hunkered down while you went to work (they were hunkered down) or people with co-morbidities also hunker down (they were hunkered down like everyone else)….since the hospitals were already full of people when we were hunkered down, your logic implies that having more people move around would result in more capacity at hospitals. Maybe “those fat people” in the hospitals were essential workers.youthathletics wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 1:33 pmProve to us what your theory was, based on my original commenting, where you felt it was incorrectly argued and counter to your belief?Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 1:27 pmSynthesize the available information within your scope. ... one of those situations is actually very common according to my physician. People like myself who had completed the original course of vaccine (V1) and the first version of Sabin oral as well in the early 60s and nothing since. Polio is not dead in the US. We have small numbers of cases today and the virus floating in the waste systems of some highly populated areas. We have regressed from the success of the 90s. History of the Polio Vaccine.
I received the Salk vaccine in the spring of 1956 and the Sabin vaccine in 1961 as part of the government's program to vaccinate school kids in the early 60's. The V1 Salk vaccine protection was recognized to have a lifetime of only a few years, along with other problems. V2 and V3 improved vaccines were developed later in the 50s and 60s. It was nonetheless considered a major success. It was phased out after the US government decided Sabin's vaccine had a number of advantages, including cost.
The Tetanus bacteria is everywhere but the vaccine is recommended every ten years. That's ten years though, not every six months (?) like Covid boosters. And, not mRNA tech.
The Polio virus and tetanus aren't mutating, every 6 months.
COVID is not done with the human race. I suspect a number of viruses that we thought we had knocked out and or had under control will decide they are not done with us either. We will have anti-vaxxers to thank for this.
I am waiting for the day, coming soon, when an mRNA vaccine is available for certain cancers.

Glass half empty take, to the surprise of no one. And factually incorrect, to boot.tech37 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:49 am Astute? Of course govt response/oversight is important during a pandemic. In hindsight how'd we do?
Lockdowns... crippled the economy
Mandates... ruined careers/lives, stressing families and added to mental health issues
Closed schools... set kid's education back years, added to mental health issues in children
Emphasis on a vaccine not ready for prime time
No emphasis on personal health and exercise from leaders... closed parks, beaches, gyms, adding to mental/physical health issues
Masking fiasco
Despite all those drastic actions, approx 1,000,000 covid deaths in US (that number is debatable of course).
We'll never know here in US but different policies/responses could have resulted in better outcomes. E.G., Sweden and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya's Great Barrington Declaration (was deemed misinformation and cancelled by the health establishment leaders at time).
And you would have done better, naturally.

"factually incorrect"? Perhaps. Whose interpretation of whose "facts" you goin by these days?

Would expect this sort of comment from a highschooler. You won't get it but it's not about me a fan.

There it is... classic a fan straw man nonsense. No one ever suggested anything close to "Flood the market with information." Read this carefully a fan... as I've said before, I consider people with bona fides who live outside of the mainstream medical bureaucracy who have differing opinions and ideas. Discretion is always advised. I consider what opposing people say as compared to what is presented with the medical establishment, govt, and MSM narrative.
That should be clear now.

Proof that you and the usual suspects are closed minded zealots........specifically b/c you never , ever, answer our questions.a fan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:26 pmGlass half empty take, to the surprise of no one. (even tho you claim questions are good fuffg
So, go on, afan......back up your declarative statement with some points. break each one down.
Lockdowns...crippled the economy. Go on, afan......."prove" that this isn't the case .
Now, of course....these are all opinions..........but, curios as to why you NEVER answer these specifics questions. Back yourself up.
What IS factually incorrect?
(afan: pro tip, you can write "and factually incorrect" on so many posters, you just choose only certain "types" I mean, for F's sake, some posters STILL, to this day, type comments like " only the unvaccinated get covid" and crap like that ........just crickets from you. )
Dr. B. really went to bat for the US Constitution.....and WON. The commie creeps don't want to talk about THAT fuffg

Now that many professors have "retired", and medical professionals as well.....so many many more...those that kept silent just to keep their jobs and make it full benefits, serverance. Or until the offspring graduate, or get in,........either way, the usual suspects will ignore. as always, what these people are NOW saying. 90 year old genious chemist Dad brought the subject up....... I asked him why he took the "jab" than ? fear porn, and well, he was 87 (?)....a widower....so what did he have to loose? I replied " respect" fuffgtech37 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 7:41 ama fan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 11:51 amOh, I remember. Flood the market with information. Science is everchanging, on going. Especially with a NEVER used drug on the entire human population (Africa ??? JUST STFUP and ignore that venmo and youtube BANNED the documentary "Anectodes". Now, why would they do that ? questions are good. why would the two largest video platforms for the USA BAN a movie, showing people injured , very possibly, from tRumps Warp Speed shot.
" It works so fast.....even the variants can't outrun it" .....who couldn't just smell tRump saying this
Dr. Jay Bhattacharya is an example of a actively employed Professor being silenced........he just respected public health and we doubt that any of the usual suspects, have ever gazed or researched his Berkshire Binghamton Project.
