All CNU so far. Cook, Cabaniss and Hanway killing it.

Forgot that games started at noon…had:

- RIT by 4 (RIT isn’t quite the same machine as in past seasons…but neither is CNU)
- Middlebury by 3 (great story either way)
- Salisbury by 7 (will not be as close as the final score)
- Tufts by 13 (prop bet of the day: O/U 1.5 unnecessary roughness/unsportsmanlike conduct penalties)

This is about one or two goals from being over, CNU can’t lose contact any more than this. RIT has so many more options than CNU. And this is with a keeper at 25%

There you go CNU. They need to keep in reach, because RIT is going to keep scoring

These refs are not letting the boys play. CNU bringing the physicality but getting penalized.

CNU getting screwed with some extremely soft calls leading to 4 man-up goals in a row for RIT (on two locked in penalties). Was a one goal game. Disappointing the refs had such an impact down the stretch in this one. Hoping for a different story for the final 3 games today.

Northern refs don’t know what good defense looks like. 47 got put on his back for dodging with his head down and the refs bail them out. That’s about as perfect of a slide as 21 can make and they give him a full time penalty. That looked like Brady’s patriots the last 10 minutes. Refs are going up to rit players and smiling and Patting them on the back. Looks like there saying don’t worry boys you’ll be fine

Refs just handed RIT the game. 3 straight minutes of locked in penalties on 2 clean and textbook hits. So soft.. gotta feel bad for the Captains.

Congrats on the W RIT.

I mean, RIT led the whole second half. Might have been closer but it’s not like CNU was winning and got hosed by calls. You give up 19 goals you aren’t winning many playoff games. CNU 0-2 vs Liberty, 0-2 vs NESCAC. A very good team but that’s 6 loses, it’s not shocking that they lost again

CNU gave up a million goals in their six losses this year
(Basically any ranked team they played). Not really the team to lecture anyone about defense. Not a great year.

CNU's defense was not a strength this year. Also, some of the flags thrown today were soft. Both things can be true.

That double that caused a turnover near the beginning of the 4th was a thing of beauty--every defensive coach should get film of that to teach young players. You had the perfect vantage point from the broadcast on it. Super clean, textbook. Mindblowing that it drew a flag. That felt like the dagger.

But credit to RIT--they were the better team today, as they have been all year.

RIT 5 penalties for 5:00 minutes

Think it’s more so that the calls were suspect and looked like clean hits. RIT offense was too much to handle and their man up is lethal. CNU had a bunch of good looks but hit a bunch of pipes. Overall two great teams and a fun game to watch. I expect RIT to beat the winner of Middlebury/Bowdoin by a few goals.

Coming from someone who had no dog in the fight…that last CNU penalty was a pretty despicable call and definitely changed that game.

Agreed.
Just wish someone from CNU would acknowledge the stats. 15-14 after 3. Look at the face offs and look at the shots on goal in the 4th quarter. And with all the possessions and opportunities in the first half they were only up 2 at half. Maybe they played their best game of the year and that's all they've got

And 28 is a beast. ...

I'll happily acknowledge them.

CNU had a dominant first quarter and ran out of gas down the stretch. No problem admitting that. RIT adjusted remarkably well on defense, they swapped goalies and fogo's with great success in both areas. CNU didn't have as many options to adjust when the game swung away from them. EMO has been a glaring weakness for CNU all year, and it showed in this game. RIT's offense is absolutely loaded--CNU needed a big day from their keeper, and they didn't get one.

Also, if a couple of those soft flags in the second half aren't thrown, this game could've stayed a lot closer down the stretch. CNU going from a clean takeaway that could give them a chance to stay close when they were only down a couple, to somehow getting a flag and RIT putting up a couple more instead, was the door shutting on their chances.

It's ok to look at the whole picture. RIT was clearly a better team all year and they earned the win today. A couple plays/flags going differently and CNU could've made it interesting at the end. Both things can be true.

RIT deserves to be where they are. CNU would've felt like they stole something to get back into the final four if they won today, after the season they've had. It's all good.

I think RIT rolls tomorrow. And I think Salisbury rolls next Sunday.

Agreed. With all the above. A few less pipes and a few less flags and it might have been a different story. Definitely a battle the whole way and CNU showed ton of talent and character.

the game changed after the call on RIT earlier that was non releasable. after that man down run, RIT rolled.
