I have learned much more this morning about Antifa. It appears as if Antifa is in fact the paramilitary wing of the party known as Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), not really the Democratic Party.

The problem for many (including me) is the DSA is now aligned with the Democratic Party and many well-known DSA folks are active inside the Democratic Party: AOC and Rashida Talib, not to mention Bernie. John Conyers and Ron Dellums were active DSA.

This is a terrorist organization; if you don't want to watch videos of what they are doing on the streets, fine, just don't come back and say they aren't when that is precisely what they are. They are using walkie talkies, not phones, and have grown very sophisticated moving supplies to cause the maximum chaos. Their goal is to subvert America; nitwits like Joe Biden who seek to raise money to bail out the DSA thugs play right into their hands.
PB rather than the constant vilification of democrats and emphasizing their every move that you disagree with or find an an anathema how about offering some constructive ideas for solving some of the issues tearing at the fabric of American society, the product of which you seem so upset by. I'm talking about issues such as mind numbing income disparity, rogue cop brutality, institutional racism, the lack of decent educational and/or occupational training opportunity for all, the move to make voting more rather than less difficult, and so on and so forth. Business and the Military are not the only businesses America should invest in if we are to create the more perfect union our founding fathers tried to put us on a path towards. From my standpoint simply saying vote for Trump or republicans won't be seen as a particularly meaningful response.

I’m sorry you didn’t understand my point about ‘waiting for facts’. What I meant was, most issues are complex and need time to understand (an example would be this video of two cops and an FBI agent).

What I didn’t mean is you don’t need time to reflect when you see 5 thugs busting an elderly woman over the head with a 2x4 in Rochester NY.

Hope that helps.

Two questions:

You say you’re a Republican. Have you ever posted on Fanlax anything positive about a conservative Republican?

I’m not going to reread your posts about police. The general sentiment last night was a long screed about how they’re mostly drunkard blowhards. That’s how it came off. Have you ever posted anything positive about a cop?

Those are legitimately serious questions.

 Dude. One last time, and then I'm done. You DESPERATELY want to make this about D's and R's.

Just stop.

Have you noticed that even lefties like Brooklyn haven't asked what the political voting habits of the man who murdered George Floyd are?

Using the sophomoric logic you're using here, if we find that he voted for Trump------"that means" that all of this is the fault of Republicans.

Do you HONESTLY not understand how ridiculous that would be?

You're trolling. No one is this silly, Pete. So please, just stop doing it. Find another way to express your opinions....

Problem is even a lot of “good cops” are just guys who got the beat job they could out of HS, often due to a family relationship. So they may be fine people but are also human, some hot heads,some/many poorly trained and just shouldn’t have the authority to take ones freedom away temporarily let alone be endowed with the lawful use of lethal force.

"Problem is even a lot of “good cops” are just guys who got the beat job they could out of HS,"

My nephew always wanted to be a cop. It was his dream job since he was a kid. He started out in the army reserve by being trained as a medic. He joined the RPD after I believe 6 months at the academy. It took 5 years of police service to beat the silly notion out of him that he could make a difference. He started out as a good cop who wanted to help people. He ended up a suicidal alcoholic mess. He went from a good cop to a bad cop not because he wanted to. The evolution of his experience was something he could not mentally handle. One tussle he was involved in had the bad guy pull out his handgun and fired off a shot that whistled past his head. The only thing that saved him was his partner shot the guy before he could get off another round. He was never the same after that, he went downhill pretty quick.

Shortly after he went back on patrol he had a call about a man causing a disturbance in a local store. The man reached out to grab him and he pulled away from the guy and talked him down. What he told me about that spoke volumes as to the issues he had. He was so scared because he said the last guy that tried to grab him wanted to kill him. He had to go outside the building and throw up. He never forgot that and I don't think he ever forgave. That type of mental makeup does not make for a good police officer. Being a good cop is as much mental as it is physical. You have to have a very short memory. When you become judgmental about the people you are suppose to protect, time to turn in your badge and find another job. My nephew lives in Seattle now. He works on a fishing boat, smokes alot of weed and has a couple of dogs. He was a good cop until he could not handle the mental stress anymore. Then he was fired and then he got the help he needed so he would not want to kill himself anymore. This is just MO. I don't think any police academy teaches you how to deal with and understand the disrespect and hostility you will face every day you are on the job. That is called OJT. You either pass or you fail.
Appreciate you sharing that story craddle.

And in some regards, I wonder if there is a parallel (clearly not exactly), with younger kids that grow up in troubled areas, that also have to deal with and live with, scenarios like that....and this is with their peers, no cops; survival mode of sorts in your neighborhood.

I know many, present and retired DC, and surrounding DMV county police officers. The DC cops ALL say they can not wait to get out of there and retire. Compound that with fighting for your life to arrest a criminal....then seeing them back on the street in a short time only to begin again. It's often a zero sum career. I am reminded by a lawyer friend that..... crime pays.
My nephew, towards the end of his law enforcement career did not care anymore. He would see someone selling crack on the street corner and he just kept it moving. In his mind street justice would find that person. They were usually shot dead on a street corner. As per the no snitching mentality... nobody saw a damn thing. That guy must have stepped in front of a flock of bullets flying south for the winter. So the police hang around long enough for the FD wash the blood out of street. Then family and friends show up to grieve and light candles and tell everybody he was a good kid trying to get his life together. Then later that night some new kid shows up on the same corner to open up a new fruit stand for all the drive by customers. At some point the police will drive by and keep it moving. There is no need to arrest anyone. Circumstance always finds it's own way to deal with it.

Apology not accepted. Since it is offered in bad faith (only a "semi-apology" after all) and with zero credibility.

It takes a lot of willful blindness and/or derangement syndrome to not know that rioting Antifas are different than the Democratic Party. Are you also unaware that water is wet and the Pope is Catholic? Where exactly to you get your news and information? I'm not buying your continued and enthusiastic gaslighting Peter.
Can you be sure this cop will go down? No.

The preliminary autopsy was just released right now, and the results suggest that the deceased died of causes unrelated to the cop's knee.
Since you say you are in a "semi-apology" mood, tell us what you think about this prior post from you? You still think Floyd's death was "unrelated to the cop's knee"? Or do you still stand by that?

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" and all that jazz, amirite!

The far left have nothing to do with the urban destruction.,..

Peter Brown wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2020 11:32 am One point I need to make, and it involves a semi-apology.

Sure, happy to. 10 ideas:

make taxes flat and low.

make cops and prosecutors (federal and local) personally liable for egregious conduct leading to false imprisonment

strengthen #2A

strengthen #1A

keep SCOTUS in what is seen as the 'conservative' majority (this is necessary because they are the only ones that pay attention to the law anymore)

eliminate at least 50% of our foreign operating military bases, with a goal to eliminate all but 5 (we currently have over 140)

do not let SALT deductions back into the federal tax code

wholly reduce imprisonment of non-violent felons with restitution or charitable commitments; hit violent felons with harder time

allow a M4A alternative to the current healthcare mess

eliminate 50% of every federal agency, both in workforce as well as number of agencies

That will permanently fix America (though I have many more ideas such as eliminating DHS)

All know cops but wouldn't want their sisters to date one.

Cops are Alcoholic power hungry failures unable to do anything else with their lives.

Illiterate Fascists with a badge.

I can hear you all chuckling under your breath at cocktail parties when someone mentions "first responders."
Um, six------do you not know who 6x6 is?

Pretty sure the man "knows" a few policemen.....

Notwithstanding "who" he is (which is entirely irrelevant), what he posts is up for 6 to comment on. I don't think I have seen a post by 6x6, so I have no idea if he is like the others. What I would say is 6ft is corrcet in the posts that have been written here by the usual Democratic suspects basically saying cops are worthless. Do you not see that?
Except I’m not a democrat. Been a registered Rep for quite a while. So you are making a incorrect statement once again. Just wrong. And my words were literal actual stories and experiences. Not just searching for links to throw against a wall and hope some stick

Just keep my username out of your mouth

Two questions:

You say you’re a Republican. Have you ever posted on Fanlax anything positive about a conservative Republican?

I’m not going to reread your posts about police. The general sentiment last night was a long screed about how they’re mostly drunkard blowhards. That’s how it came off. Have you ever posted anything positive about a cop?

Those are legitimately serious questions.
If you don’t bother then I won’t bother to give you the credibility you crave. Your questions don’t prove anything about whether I’m a republican. And why did you add the word “conservative” the second time around? I’ve been fleas, Afan and I disagree regularly about the level of redistribution and support that should come from a central government which you’ve chosen to ignore. Intellect and logic either escape you or you are totally fraudulent in these pseudo arguments you try to make.

Bottom line is you and any other sycophant for this particular administration, or for that matter any politician don’t get to define who’s in a party and who’s not. The arrogance in doing so is sky high and offensive

 So you're not catching on to what I'm trying to tell you about 6x6, are ya?

6ftstick is SPECIFICALLY incorrect here about 6x6. Now why would that be the case?

Take 10 seconds for once, and think about what you're reading. Maybe read my posts again, eh? ;)
I have to apologize to 6x6. I went back and reread that page of posts and he just happened to post something completely different right in the middle of those Libs telling us how awful the people were that they knew who were cops. Sorry 6x6. Thanks fan for pointing out the error of my ways.
