In reverse order - while I have no idea what % of the schollie pot any player absorbs - I doubt DeSimone off the roster would create "Big Dollars" - simply too many people on the roster and his production has not followed his rankings - though again - I think he is playing out of position so not all his "fault".

connor was a top dog in his class recruiting, epstein, williams, grimes, smith, evan, reinson, how many of these kids did they really have to give big $ to get?

I’m actually optimistic about the defensive side of the ball. The Jays have a huge amount of poles on the roster and without a Coach who has the most complicated system in D1 we can hope that JK keeps it simple and puts the best athletes on the field. Which I think he will. There has to be talent there just in volume of players. They can’t all be busts.

Maybe they save the best stuff for a mens lax gala or the bigger deal university stuff but this seems like a pretty weak list. No Rabil/Harrison stuff no bb stuff. No framed prints of the university/past games at homewood from the bookstore, no 1 on 1 cameo type things w/coaches or top professors, no kids birthday parties at homewood, no vintage jerseys. Thousands of living Hopkins athletics alumni and this doesn't seem like a big help.

Considering that college athletes will travel more frequently than most college students, and are more likely to be in situations where social distancing and masking are impractical, I think Hopkins may require COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of participating in Spring sports. That’s assuming vaccine doses become available soon.

Maybe the first vaccine dose in early January, a second dose by the beginning of the semester (January 25, 2021), and then the beginning of practice in the first week of February. The season, maybe a truncated 8-game regular season, would begin in the first week of March.

Here’s hopin’.

I think they would be wise to push back the season a few months until May when vaccines should become widely available. Run it May-June.
But it's anybody's guess what would happen now. It ultimately becomes a risk/reward proposition for the AD and RD.
I can see RD being cautious, I mean, why take the risk? I can see the AD pushing, up the testing and medical involvement and let's roll forward carefully.
My guess is the ladies win out, but again, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high the Jays field a team this year. If it happens and they open the stands, I'll be there with my mask on because I have no sense whatsoever lol.

If the team does play, I hope they don't take Grimes off the field. We need that lefty sniper in there.

Speaking of Ronny D, he just bought a nice little $5 million estate in Montecito.

quint spent years on the move the season back argument and the push back was kids summer jobs, housing leases and this just isn't that important for that.

Dixons podcast a few weeks ago talked a lot about how he expects grant to emphasize lefties in the offense.

michigan had to cancel football this week and their beat writers think they won't be able to go next week keeping ohio state from the minimum number of games and thus out of the b1g conference championship. There have to be some extremely intense conversations going on right now between the coaching staff and the administration and then the administration and b1g about playing next spring and these kinds of rules.

Mich is waving the white flag to take a game away from OSU and possibly keep them out the playoff. Everyone knows it. LOL!

they're really biding their time here on this call. schedules usually come out this week. My guess is we'll find out from some school posting their schedule and not hopkins directly or well get some press release.

Which is why they accept the NC$$ playoffs...as determing the true national champion !
The season now has little meaning. And it's why 90% of postings after mid season flap on and on about which teams will make the playoffs.
. So boring !!!

Well, yeah. Back then Hopkins usually went undefeated or lost at most one or two games.

So, it was easy to “be in the conversation” regarding who’s in the running to be champ.

Still, voting for a champ sucks.

Agreed, but defenders of the voting system could argue that their way would have allowed the 2007 championship to be awarded to the team with the best body of work.

Oh, just fook dook and the whole universe they came from. Taking out ads saying “National Championship”. What a damn joke. And don’t forget the pregame delay of game parade.

the difference between duke+hopkins is that the student managers on the mens basketball team are a bigger deal there to students than the danowskis.
