Johns Hopkins 2024
Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
better hope degnon is ok
Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
ohio state is last in the conference in half the categories the ncaa tracks for teams including winning percentage.
Ohio State is trying really hard to stay away from kilrain and smith.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
These three Big Guys have too much finesse and not enough power in their game. To paraphrase Dom Starsia’s greatest dig (at a former Navy player), Collison, Peshko, and Grimes don’t play like big men.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 7:44 pm As usual, little early production from the Big Guys (Collison, Peshko, and Grimes).
The only Blue Jay winning his matchup is Angelus?!? What the heck.

Degnon is not known as a dodger, but he simply power dodged his way to that last goal, losing a shoe in the process.
That’s what we need to see more of from the Big Guys.
When you hear that Hopkins is having trouble winning their matchups on offense, that’s an indictment against Collison, Peshko, and Grimes. None of those guys are going to win a lot of matchups with their speed. They need to play like big men and win their matchups with power dodges.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
If OSU is going to continue shorting our quickest dodger, I would run a heavy rotation of Ayers and Bauer along with Angelus in the second half. The bigger dodgers are having very little impact except for turnovers.

Yep. The way to beat this D is with speed, not size/strength. They are extremely physical but lack some foot speed. The three Big Guys have 3 shots, 0 SOGs, and 0 points among them.

PM "we're too tentative offensively" no kidding.
Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Soft call on that trip. I’ll take it though.
Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
after 6 years they throw degnon inside. research and winning.
Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
OSU's plan on offense is so simple. They're clearing out and dodging against our shorties in space. It's vanilla stuff. D has to see it and respond.
Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Random thought…Ohios coach seems like he is always in a constant state of anger. Not a fun dude to be around

Peshko’s decision not to shoot on the crease exemplifies this.

It is amazing how collison and Melendez can just entirely disappear for long periods. They’re excellent players. How does this happen?
