Always disappointing. Always predictable. It's not 1954 Mr. Cleaver.
Cleaver 1954 ? Was he a Nazi sympathizer or a Commie collaborator ?

Nice to see the math geniuses on tv teach us a thing or 2. Friggen embarrassing.

Nowhere near as dumb as thinking that Mexico would pay for the wall, deficits don't matter, and "these tax cuts will pay for themselves".

Your cited math mistake was made by an idiot on MSNBC. Who cares?

The above math mistakes were turned into actual laws and policies.

That's why I posted it on the media matters thread. You should pick up the guitar, and stop beating the same drum, over-and-over. My post was not even political in nature and you had to make it partisan. "you're holding on too tight" ;)

From the Post:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... ce=twitter

"When Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, he stressed the importance of Americans taking the coronavirus outbreak seriously.

“I think we should really be overly aggressive and get criticized for overreacting,” Fauci said.

Yet for weeks as the virus spread in the United States, many Fox News hosts and personalities did the opposite, examples of which you can watch in the video above.

“This is yet another attempt to impeach the president,” Fox Business host Trish Regan said March 9.

“At worst — worst case scenario — it could be the flu,” Fox News medical correspondent Marc Siegel, a physician, said March 6.

“All the talk about coronavirus being so much more deadly [than the flu] doesn’t reflect reality,” Fox News host Jeanine Pirro said March 7.

In fact, the coronavirus is deadlier and more contagious than the flu, and thousands have already died around the world because of it.

Over the past week, many Fox hosts and personalities have pivoted to warning viewers about the dangers of coronavirus. But the weeks they spent downplaying it may have already affected the public response.

As my colleague Philip Bump wrote, “Republicans and Fox News viewers are both about as likely to say that the media broadly has either slightly or greatly exaggerated the threat posed by the virus,” according to new data from the Pew Research Center.

On Wednesday, Fox host Sean Hannity pushed back on criticism of his early coronavirus coverage.

“This program has always taken the coronavirus seriously and we’ve never called the virus a hoax,” Hannity said last night.

But nine days earlier, Hannity did just that.

“They’re scaring the living hell out of people and I see it again as like, ‘Oh, let’s bludgeon Trump with this new hoax.’”

Fox did not respond to a request for comment on Thursday."

The New York Times quietly edited a headline on the coronavirus relief package that stalled in Congress Sunday, twice making adjustments that were more favorable to Democrats.

The original headline read
“Democrats Block Action on $1.8 Trillion Stimulus.”

The second version still pointed to Democrats as the reason for the stall, but added their justification.
“Democrats Block Action on Stimulus Plan, Seeking Worker Protections.”

The third headline removed Democrats entirely, saying instead,
“Partisan Divide Threatens Deal on Rescue Bill.”

There’s a new documentary on HBO called The Truth, might be interesting to folks who get that channel or have some other access

Edit: sorry called “After Truth”. Watching while packing up stuff so distracted but interesting. I used to live diagonally across from comet ping pong (pizza gate or whatever), across from an Exxon Station and Politics and Prose in strip w Comet, which was previously a solid Thai place.

Interesting note from this week's news coverage - if you are watching in HD - in places like NY and CA where anchors are working remotely because of state shutdowns there are no hairstylists or makeup people doing them up - doing it themselves - sometimes looks very different that what we are used to seeing.

Oh I had already been studying that with the female anchors And reporters on CNBC and Bloomberg for a solid week plus now. Indexing is already under way.

Great thread detour, Kismet.

I have been looking at the books, pictures, artwork, etc. that are on the bookshelves the talking heads have in their home offices.

Yes, I have been watching way too much cable TV.
