For playoffs.. Is the last spot down to Gilman ( 5 wins) vs Mcd ( 5 wins) today? Whoever wins gets in and the other goes home? The five teams ahead of these two in standings all have six wins. If so, should be a great game to watch.

yes, you are correct. Loser goes home, winner advances to playoffs.

Crusaders will jump back in the W column rolling into the playoffs with a resounding 11-6 victory in the Big Game!

Cards edge Dons in a classic battle, 9-8.

Eagles knock Gilman out of playoffs, 11-9
Was very tempted to go with StP but BL has been quite mercurial...just rolled the dice!

I really like MCD in this game. Coach Hilgartner and his staff will show their coaching mettle this afternoon. I'm looking for a five goal margin of victory.

8-1 hall over Loyola with 8 minutes left in 2nd. Hall man up for 53 more seconds of a 2 minute non-releasable called against the Dons.

Just when everyone was ready to write the eagles off after their sluggish start they come soaring back! Eagles win 10-7. We’re onto the playoffs!

Some good other games too-

A back and forth game all day, No team led by more than 2- BL takes down St Paul’s 8-7 in Overtime!

Spalding trailed by 4 at one point and needed all 4 quarters to get it done tonight against John Carroll, winning 11-10.

St Mary’s beats MSJ 13-6.

Here are my first and second round predictions:

Mcdonogh by 3 over BL
SP by one over Loyola

I like MCD over SM in the semis and CHC over SP by 8.

I concur with Gym Teacher's predictions for playoffs;
SP runs and guns by the Dons, 10-5
McD blasts Lakers on Lake Ave, 12-7

Semis;
CHC pulls away late, 14-9
McD turns the tables on the Saints in an epic battle, 12-11.

Final
Cards need extra time to edge surging Eagles, 10-9, and win 3rd crown in a row. First school to do so in the MIAA era.

IF the Cards do, indeed, need extra time to edge the Eagles, in-terms of history and trivia, it would, as competitive as the "A" Conference has always been, be the first title game to go into OT in ages. Does anyone know the last time that happened? Definitely the early-80s or earlier.

I'm done! I can't figure the league out this spring. But, it's still the best and fun to watch!

Congratulations to the Loyola Dons and Coach Ubriaco! He's done a masterful job this year getting his team to the Semi's. This man can flat out coach, and keep your eye on Blakefield for years to come!

How about the Lakeshow making another statement yesterday over a surging McDonogh team. They just keep finding ways to win...they love to win. That attack is fun to watch!

Shocking to see the Eagles not in the final 4 this year! High hopes shattered, after a remarkable stretch run to get in. The young defense just could not get it done in several big league games. Surprising from a Coach Hilgartner squad.

In keeping with the theme of surprising, St. Paul's loses 4-in-a-row, including 3 out of 4 down the stretch after holding leads going into the 4th quarter (plus, they get blown out by CHC in the other loss). Not a good finish for Coach Whittey and the Crusaders. Many folks felt this was going to be a special year with all those talented seniors and juniors.

Final 4 @ Unitas Stadium Towson Univ
Loyola v Calvert Hall
BL v St. Mary's

I'm not going to make any predictions, even though I think Calvert Hall is clearly the class of the league. Anything can happen...remember 2013!

Predictions

Calvert Hall is clearly the favorite but during the playoffs expect the unexpected. However, Loyola's CHEAT code will falter to the extremely talented Calvert Hall by 5.

St Mary's gets some home cooking down in Annapolis and wins in OT--OH but wait; the game is in Towson. BL by 3.

I agree. I am glad I was not betting on any games this year. The only steady team has been CH. I was expecting McD to battle BL till end or even win a close one, to lose by 4 is surprising. Game isnt online and didnt watch game in person so have no idea what was difference.

For upcoming playoffs I think it is a toss up with BL and St Marys, giving BL the edge in a close one.

Unless CH gets crazy overconfident or the entire team comes down with the flu, they should breeze thru Loyola and whoever wins the BL/STM game.

I agree about 2013, but the talent level between CH and other teams is much wider this year than 2013. I am not sure any the other teams have Ryan Conrad and Devin McNamara type players ready to take over the game. But Stranger things have happened.
