And yet, when Trump tweets after midnight, you all are clamoring he's a drug addict on cocaine or addie  ....pot, meet kettle ;) , I wonder if afan will call you guys out for only picking on Trump and never Joe...
You mean over on the Biden thread? Where EVERYONE has given their displeasure of various Biden policies and/or inactions.....for the last 3+ years?

That what you mean?

You STILL haven't posted in the Trump thread, my man. Plenty of Trump speeches to discuss.

Odd, you've got that perspective suddenly. Glad you are now attune to what some of us have been pointing out Biden has been doing for the past 3 years.

But feel free to post the proof of your concern. You know, things like: falling down multiple stairs, regularly fumbling simple speeches, forgetting who just shook your hand, staring off dead-eyed into space, getting lost exiting stages, falling asleep at events, etc.

I promise not to doubt or make excuses for video proof. But Seacoaster might.

Seriously, you're not shilling for Trump?

My main disagreement is the suggestion that the staff was planning for “two possible outcomes.” I don’t think that is the case. The staff is very loyal to him. They were not “planning” on some type of scenario whereby he would have to get out of the race. We can debate who is speculating and whose speculation is wilder. I understand you will side with your son, which is understandable, but I think his notion is pretty far out.

I don’t disagree that he has slipped physically in the last year or so, but that isn’t very significant to me. I understand younger people will see it differently. Here’s some speculation for you. When those younger people are in their 70s or 80s, they will see it differently than they do now.😀

In the last year, Joe put together an extraordinary coalition of our European allies to stand up to Putin. He greatly strengthened NATO and got everybody to contribute huge amounts of money, arms, etc. He shepherded the admission of two new NATO members, having to battle through strong opposition in Hungary and Turkey. A truly remarkable achievement. Indeed, historic.

Could Harris have done that? No. Obama? No. Obama did nothing when Putin invaded Ukraine. Joe did all of the above.

Joe has had some less than stellar performances (beyond the debate) to be sure. He never has been a great communicator. Certainly no Churchill. Far from it. But lots of presidents haven’t been good communicators. W for one.

You are probably right that “took him to the cleaners” is too strong. But if Joe had done as I suggested about the “cold” disclaimer at the start and had he attacked Trump hard from the beginning, I think we would be in a different situation today.

As I have been saying over and over, I think Joe could’ve won. I don’t think Harris can win. I sure hope I am wrong.

My cousin suggested that Joe should have said to Trump that he would not debate him until Trump conceded that he lost the last election. In retrospect, that would have perhaps been a good idea, although I think Joe wanted the debate since he was behind in the polls. Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20.

Is this your idea of a diversion? Why not just yell "look, a squirrel!!"

You're not going to say word one about Trump. You don't care about how old a candidate is. If you did, you'd be posting about how Trump is old as F alongside of Biden.

All you want is for your guy to win. And if you thought calling Joe Biden white, while claiming Trump is black would lead to a Trump win? That's what you'd do.

But the thread on Trump is right there for you, to show that you do indeed care about age, and the FACT that Trump makes ZERO sense when giving speeches....and the FACT that Trump will be older than Biden is today when he leaves office in five years.

You don't care. Gaslighting doesn't work on this crew, sorry. You're welcome to your opinions, though.

He is. Search his posts. He liked Trump's policies, and hates Joes. Which is fine, but I don't get why he's trying to gaslight us with this nonsense.

The whole age thing is a lie......which is why the Republicans will ignore all questions about Trump's age, and about how he wanders off on nonsense rants in every speech he gives. They. do. not. care.

Let’s just say that my son knows he’s just speculating, you seem quite sure. I think way too sure. We really have no idea.

As to probabilities of winning, you appear to be in a small minority, though I too thought so pre debate. After, no.

So, get behind Harris.

If by your comment you mean you think I’m “quite sure” that the Biden staff was not plotting a “two possibilities” scenario, what I am saying is I am quite sure that my speculation (which I agree it is to a degree) is much less “wild” than your son’s. There was a palace mutiny in the party to be sure, but I don’t think it was initiated and led by Biden’s staff. The idea that his staff put together a plan which, as an alternative, was designed to force Biden out of the race is pretty far out there. If you think about it closely, I think you will agree.

Well, we will never know, will we, about whether Joe could’ve won. And that’s really a crime, I think.

That will be quite the stretch to find a conspiracy theory of the passing due to old age.

You don’t know how much is Joe Vs others around him tethered to his success and job to accomplish anything though.

And it doesn’t really matter what the perspective of an 80yr old is with browser to evaluating the next presidents viability. Regardless of whether we ought to treat the were better overall, it doesn’t mean they should be driving the country’s leadership and policy platform. Too much is long term investment to put in the hands of folks who won’t be around for all the outcomes.

Totally clear he was diminished and that decay increased risk to all citizens to select him.

Crazy Story.....

About 20 years ago I was working in Columbia Plaza, a DoS building in DC. Building next door was Apartment/Dorms for GWU, it was not uncommon for the ladies to give teh building a wakeup good morning through the windows for all to see. However, one morning, we witnessed some guy doing the very thing from that AP story...only issue is this guy did not know people could see and when he stood up, he was shocked and slammed the drapes.

Did JD go to GWU?
