Towson's size & physicality created problems on both ends for Bucknell. Koby Smith had multiple big hits & a goal.

Kyle Berkeley was a matchup problem.
Maybe Berkeley has been doing nothing but lifting the past 3 years or so since he wasn't seeing the field for the Terps.

Some large azzz middies in the CAA.
Ryan Brind Sheridan is another monster middie.
I believe Berkeley was injured last season. Do believe I did see some pictures of him getting some lifting with some of the football players during rehab. I wish him good luck. 2021 was a very hard year for him and he had a lot of ups and downs.

9-6 win over Lehigh today.

Avanzato two goals. Milani two goals, Koby one, Chop Gallagher one, Kimmel one. Don't know who scored first two goals. Not sure if DeMaio played or how we did against a great face-off guy in Sisselburger.

Did Sisselberger not play?

Good question!

Offense looks good. Ran 3 midfields. 3rd getting few runs. Defense as a whole is great. Man down 8-10 times. 2 goals 2 goals let up on fast breaks. Only 2 all game 6v6. People that do polls, know nothing about teams. No research, just same old top teams then go by previous years record. It really pathetic that people get paid to do it. 2 unsportsmanlike calls. For celebrating(seriously in a scrimmage). Lehigh on other side only ran 6-7 kids on offense. 6-10 very good. 22 played like a me guy. O for the game. Stuffed a few times. It’s the year of the Tiger.

My fault. It was Sisselburger. Not an expert on Lehigh lacrosse. Had the wrong name. He played the entire game and supposedly Constantinides held his own.

I watched Jax vs Hopkins yesterday on ESPN3. Shoot low & often. Kirson - goalie for Hopkins can be scored on. He doesn’t get down on bounce shots . Jacksonville played well but turned it over to much. Obviously turnovers will be important Friday. This is not your father’s Hopkins lacrosse team. They are a work in progress w some talent. Towson can matchup w them but has to execute clears, EMO, faceoffs, and perimeter passing without turnovers. Jax hung w Hopkins but a lack of execution on clears, fast breaks, and simple perimeter passing hurt them. Constantly giving the ball back to Hopkins. 2nd & 3rd chances put Hopkins in the drivers seat.

The Hopkins score against Jax reflected the difference between the two teams pretty accurately. Hopkins was better but not by much. The home team has a legitimate shot Friday. I haven’t seen enough of TU to know what they have.

Tough stretch of games for both these teams,
3-4 game stretch of top 5, top 10 opponents,
(actually, no cupcakes at all on Tigers’ schedule)

Tigers need to be prepped and ready, now.

a) it was a scrimmage.
b) not sure what you want pollsters to do. go by h.s. hilite films?
c) also guess a freshman might do better than 36%?

- nadelan's probably happy they got 8-10 penalties then, vs this week and something to emphasize. 6+ penalties probably won't bode well friday. same with cellys, even if it's a dumb call.

any idea if 2 and 47 were playing @ att for lehigh?

fogo ready and penalties under control (and it's not at homewood... that's possible) could be an upset alert.

It's Pretty Simple, most pollsters know nothing about teams. They rate teams on last year's performance. I use Towson for example because I know well. The most underrated team this year. How can you have a Top 3 Head coach in all of college lax, and not know about them. It's just a poor job. Its other teams too. Guarantee Hopkins is not underestimating them.

Top 3 head coach? Curious which two you have above SN so we can laugh about the great coaches you have below him. Maybe he's top 3 in the state of MD? Maybe top 3 in the city of Baltimore?

what on earth are you talking about? weren't they 6 and 8 last year? and the year before they were what? so who is supposed to believe anything preseason? because of the guys they have back? or new guys that've never put on a tiger uniform?

and how do you know they are the most underrated team out of 70+ teams? that's amazing.

preseason... polls... mean... nada... even less than in-season polls, if that's possible. we'll get to see how underrated they are beginning friday. going against last year's 4 and 9 hopkins.

Excited to be at the game on Friday and think Towson has the potential to have a strong season, but the team is like 6-14 in their last 20 games and some of their potential impact players (the MD transfers or the new FOGO) we haven’t really seen play college lax. And that’s where the questions come in, think everyone knows they’ll be good defensively and in goal but can they score and if not, win FO’s to help get possessions to score? Or keep D fresh?

Plenty of questions that mean I’m with you, I don’t understand at all some of the shock or upset feelings that they aren’t Top 20. Haven’t been Top 20 quality in awhile! It was 2019, and a lot of those key guys aren’t on the team anymore. Penn State was #1 in 2019, won’t see them in the Top 20 this week either.

Towson was horrible (0-6) in 2020 in a screwed up COVID season and last year, they were better, but not good enough to make the CAA Tournament. I think they have a lot to prove, especially on offense and at the X. I really don't care if they were picked 60th or 20th. Coaches don't care either, though I'm sure they can use the fact that they are not ranked as bulletin board material.

I don't blame the voters. They pretty much do the same thing in every college sport. If Towson wins the CAA next season, they'll probably be picked in the top 20, but of course, they have to replace Koby, Brennan and a bunch of other key players.
