I think you are being too harsh on the NIH, CDC, FDA folks. Nonetheless if this fellow can explain it and be believed by the lowest common denominator types, I am all for it, as long as I don't have to listen to it. The Cliff Notes are just fine by me.

How about we pull in a pulmonary surgeon or internist, communicate to the people about facts they are seeing; they could have a weekly update. If you want scare people, scare them into realizing this is what is happening to you on the inside, bring the dr to the patients. My sole point....we are horrible at marketing, unless the intent is to merely cause chaos at each turn.

That was my entire point.....you are educated and value being informed, you do not need little pictures or breaking down paragraphs of scientific studies. People are more inclined to listen to a/their dr, then listening to Fauci.

... I don't think there is any doubt we could do better by having an interpreter for the 50% that can't understand Fauci et al. We could not do worse. The problem is the audience. We have to make special arrangements for the slower members of society. The problem is not one of dishonesty of the current speakers. The problem is on the receiver side coupled with scum bags who want to make current speakers appear dishonest.

...there are people who make a living doing this kind of thing. It is not uncommon for scientists to not be the best to explain things to the less knowledgeable.

I think the scum bags are the major reason we have problems. People who understand perfectly well, but for political reasons don't want things to be understood by the less knowledgeable or represented truthfully.
