Given the magnitude & breadth of Epstein's depravity, it's stunning that this remained buried for so long & received so little national coverage when the plea deal was made. Where was the MSM on this ?

Some victims reportedly received restitution in the plea deal. Did they have to sign non-disclosure agreements ?

Did Acosta, FL prosecutors, or the FL Judge/AG have to explain to the MSM how this case was resolved ?
Why they didn't take it to trial ?
Did they say they did it to spare the victims the trauma of testifying at a trial.

They didn’t even look at Epstein’s computers. Not the Feds. Not the State. Not interested. Gave them back. They considered charging in Miami so the PB victims wouldn’t know. Your questions would be received as reasonable and even interesting if you didn’t have such a pattern of always trying to excuse Trump or some Trump ally, by casting shade on the media, the IC, the “Derp State” etc.

This situation has come to the fore not because Trump is in the White House (unless we ascribe the momentum of #metoo to his election). The victims have fought for 11 years to bring this back into the light, facing all sorts of intimidation. The reporter in Miami has fought for them, and was supported by her paper but few others.

Why? Because the rich and powerful ( they come in all political stripes) wanted all of this sort of stuff buried.

#metoo finally broke through. Just as in other successful social movements, a tipping point was reached in which the realization of the morality of the matter became obvious to most. For instance in the Civil Rights movement of the ‘60’s, there were a series of events and images, but none more awakening than the pictures on TV of dogs and police and hate filled people screaming at children. Or Vietnam body bags, Kent State shooting. The momentum simply grew, and what had been buried began to come to light . Pentagon papers, My Lai, etc

Yes, the moment implicates Trump. There’s no question of his infidelities and his misogyny. On tape, as well as a huge # of accusations of sexual assaults. It is what it is.

And yes, like so many of Trump’s appointments, either the vetting was inadequate, or worse they didn’t care.

And yes, Trumps support for Roy Moore is implicating in the overall zeitgeist.

But Trump is just one of many rich, powerful, famous men who have too long gotten away with egregious behaviors . And those who have enabled them to do so by kowtowing to that wealth and power, are being hauled on to the carpet too.

It’s all long overdue.
