That would make sense, Penn one of few IVY's who takes transfers and he'd certainly be a Day 1 starter.

That's possible at any number of schools, but there are a few where it's more than just possible. Can't imagine the Duke staff is losing too much sleep over it. They probably have 2 more recruits coming in with similar profiles in addition to those they got last year. Bigger issue is what they are doing with all of that talent.

A ‘new Ivy’ is just down the street from Duke, Carolina.
Bizarre falloff in one year. His freshman season he was impactful.
I bet some team will be really happy they land him. Btw his last game in a Duke uniform he was 1 and 1 for two points versus Maryland.

That would make sense. Was wondering if there might be some turmoil in Durham.
Who knows what's really going on behind the scenes but I will say it's unusual for a contender like Duke to lose a contributor like Balsamo with multiple years of eligibility left. Not like he's a grad student seeking a specific program elsewhere. Also not like it's Chris Gray at BU wanting to go play for a contender. Just doesn't 'happen very often. This is a guy who already plays, for a team that's already good, and was going to be needed next year with them losing their top three scorers and four of their top five. If Duke had any lacrosse fans, they'd probably be worried. Imagine if the equivalent happened at Hopkins, Cuse, Maryland, Virginia, or Cornell.
It's very rare especially under Danowski, I am struggling to come up with another example to be honest, at least one where they still had multiple years of eligibility left.
There’s been some though I’m sure some here want to stir things up but it’s happened. Fact is Benn Johnston took his minutes and even though Delgado is more SSdM and two way he’s probably going to jump

That’s the training ground but there’s always someone hungrier. Plus I was a public school kid not from the world that starts w Ritalin FR or Soph yr at AOF, NMH, Choate etc.

Ty Xanders tweeted that Balsamo is a "no contact" portal entry. Meaning that he does not want schools reaching out to him. The only school's in contact with him will be through him reaching out.
Duke is one helluva degree. Outside of Ivy's... maybe a ND or UM degree would be comparable?
