Dropping:
Aidan Olmstead Loyola A
Bobby Abshire Army M

Adding
1st Round: Chad Palumbo Princeton FR A
2nd Round: Matt Minicus Loyola FR A

Still a lot of good players left.
You took my two guys.

You guys make this too easy!! A couple of draft thoughts so far and as you read please try and do so in your best "STEPHEN A" voice!!

1. HOLY LORDED.......THIS YEAR IS LOADED!! This year is absolutely loaded with offensive talent. It helps when we add three new teams (Harvard, Villanova, Brown), throw in a ton of COVID 5th year transfers, and a pretty talented freshman class. Lots of impact picks!!

2. ALL-AMERICAN'S.....Still amazes me how every draft, previous All-American's (Devon McLane, Matt Campbell, and my #2 pick) and future All-American's (Sam King, Chris Lyons) get passed up each year for gambles on unproven freshman. Sure some will pan out, but many do not! We're talking about All-Americans....the best of the best!

3. HORRIFIC!!!.......Worst Picks of the first round: Aidan Aitken (FR - UMD) and Dom Pietramala (FR - UNC)....remember meeting Aidan as a 6th grader. Unfortunately it will take him a while to ever even get a chance to sniff the field at Maryland (reoccurring problem for many!). He will be out transferring back to his home state at Jacksonville in 2 years or less. CalLaxDad.....you got a good returning group of players....extra picks coming.......you could have won now!! But not by wasting a pick on Petro Jr. who will probably transfer to Cuse eventually anyways. Petro Jr. might be a stud down the road....but you could have won now!!

4. THE LOCKS!!........Best Picks - Chris Lyons (48 pts as a FR), Sam King (46 pts as FR), and Devon Mclane (71 pts as a SOPH)..........STUDS!!! I was hoping to make Dante Trader be a part of this list, but I guess will have to wait till later rounds when he is dropped :D

5. DON'T SLEEP..............Defenses..........no one values them......17 finished with less than negative 10 points

Excited for a great season fellas! Always so much fun and always much love to you all.....especially PA TALK. MATNUM....thanks for all your time and efforts in coordinating and running everything. You the man!!! Time to take a nap for a week and come back for the 3rd round. Excited to see what studs you leave me for rounds 3 and 4!!

FCA selects: Thomas McConvey - GR - MIDFIELD (UVA)
FCA drops: Dylan McIntosh SR A Hofstra

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s lacrosse head coach Lars Tiffany announced the addition of graduate transfer Thomas McConvey on Thursday (June 30).

McConvey (Toronto, Ontario) comes to Virginia from the University of Vermont, where he was one of the best players in program history as a midfielder. He was named the America East’s Offensive Player of the Year and a Third Team All-American according to Inside Lacrosse after setting a UVM single-season record 60 goals in addition to his 14 assists in 2022.

“We are grateful to have Thomas pursuing his master’s degree in Accounting here in Charlottesville,” said Tiffany. “The success Chris Feifs and his staff have realized at the University of Vermont is due to hard work, their acquisition of exceptional talent and the development of their student-athletes. Thomas is a prime example of such. We at UVA will now benefit from the many years – both in the box and on the field – that Thomas has poured into becoming an elite offensive lacrosse player. We plan to employ Thomas as a midfielder, the same position he played at UVM.”

McConvey is set to begin training with the program in the fall of 2022.

Only part of this post I understood was that I was the man. People, please ignore FCA. He's just excited because he grabbed a D with his 1st Round pick (mistake) and then was surprised that his mistake didn't destroy his season (like so many other picks have done to you all). Also, FWIW, rumor has it that McConvey is experiencing some academic issues which is going to cause some problems for him this coming spring which caused Lars to confront him which caused McConvey to fly off the handle and... It's an ugly, ugly situation in Charlottesville. Ignore, FCA.

FCA's defenses last year weren't good and he had a (small) hole at midfield for 2023, so he improved in those 2 areas. I would put him as the favorite for 2023.

Graduating our top attack Nichtern and top mid Hannah puts our team in rebuilding mode. We're never left without and the rebuild is already underway with the abundance of talent available.

Let's see how everyone's team looks post draft.

No doubt he'll have one of the better teams

You took my next guy. Last three picks took my next three. My roster was decimated. I am in a 2 year rebuild.

Still deciding...but, will compensatory picks take place at the beginning or end of their assigned round (I have 2 in the 4th round).

I am now in a pretty big rebuild. Lost 5 to graduation and 2 to being "cut" from the league...So while going the youth route may not help right away, I am hoping it will next year or so. Don't think I will be competing for a championship this year...

I will make my pick later today...

Official word was end of the round, e.g., see last post of round 1 draft order where callax has last pick before round 2.
