Which is a tell on their real lack of concern for the rights of individuals.
We need to know far more about who shot whom and why before it becomes particularly relevant.
That said, because it was in that area, folks are paying attention to it.
Was it some leftist shooting someone not fully woke?
Or was it a boogaloo type creating trouble?
Or just someone PO'd about someone making the moves on his woman?
Once we know more, it'll be worth discussion.
Until then, we'll just need to stay tuned.

Why just yesterday I thought you said Desantis had blood on his hands for beach something something. The day of the beach being open. And still, the scoreboard shows 32,900 deaths in New York, and ummmm, 3.200 in Florida. Would’ve been consistent for you to have hesitated then. But alas, Republican bad, Democrat good, right?

You reveal yourself daily on these boards, MD. I'm only cynical about you, not Florida/NY. On Florida/NY, any normal person can see quite clearly what the deal is.
If anything, Florida should have been the #1 death-by-Covid capital in the world; we have the elderly (check), the poor (check), and the immigrant masses huddled in apartments and houses (check).
You should be loudly wondering why NY, NJ, IL, and Washington did so poorly, when in fact they don't come close to Florida's perfect storm of Covid exposure.
I sense both a pattern of yours as well as a pattern of who runs those states.

NY was hit early and hard, by the European strain, enormous community spread before the population understood and began to adapt, with or without government encouragement.
Florida was not hit early, thankfully.
and no, it's not remotely as dense, not by a long, long shot.
The criticism of each of these government officials, local, state, federal level is what did they know and when, and what did they do to encourage the population to reduce the spread?
None of them has a perfect score on this, including your pal.
Fingers crossed that the spread in Florida won't get out of control and force another total shutdown. I think Florida may be able to get through it because so much of the population, especially those most vulnerable, is taking the issue seriously, but I do worry for my many friends in the state and will be concerned about my mom when she returns in the fall (hopefully).
And we continue to be hopeful that the medical community will continue to learn how to manage the virus, more and more successfully.
My prediction is that this will be sorely tested in the fall.
