Honestly in my opinion, Venturelli has had a pretty lackluster season. Also looks a lot smaller than last year.

Freitas is #1 in minutes played, #1 in save percentage, #1 in GAA, and #2 in total saves. He’s the First Team goalie because he is the best goalie in the conference. Pretty straightforward.

Seems like AC got gassed and sloppy in the 4th. Very similar to their previous match..still gave Tufts another run for their money. It'll be interesting to see how Tufts fairs with the back to back after such a competitive game.

Midd v Williams —> Midd -1.5
Will be a competitive game throughout. Midd is the king of one goal games. I don’t think Williams has the SSDMs to guard Midd’s midfield. Taking midd
Prop bet of the game: Kern with more saves than Freitas +250
I like these lines, I personally like this one: Swank to have more points than Boyden +340. Will also be hammering Dannolfo to look like an idiot in Jordans at -1500, can't argue with this one. It is literally free.

To chime in on some of the all-cac discussion above. Very happy to see Rice get the recognition he deserves, but still not sure why he's not in the 1st team spot. Also hard to understand by Big Jack Venturelli on Conn did not get some sort of recognition this year (1st teamer from '22), he is widely known as one of the most feared and technical defenders in the conference.

Also really like this future: Jim Nagle 2024 COY +1600. Something is brewing in New Lo.

I think Boyden saw your post…

I saw Williams was shut out in the 2nd half, but I didnt see the game. Does anyone who watched it have any insight?

Nope. Peaked in for a bit in 2nd Q and Williams was up 5-3, not sure what happened after that. Midd really is excellent this year but D isn’t their strength. However, O isn’t Williams strength either so who knows. Leaves a very interesting and tense selection day for the CAC. Amherst with the best OOC win and no bad losses. Williams with, not bad, but losses to Hamilton and CC and a bad score vs Union but wins over Babson, MIT and RPI which are all nice and of course the H2H win. Both getting in is possible but I would not be comfortable if I were either.

I have to disagree with this perspective: only Williams had a better GAA than Midd this season (10.2 v 10.5). IMO, Midd's success is attributable to (i) disciplined zone defense, (ii) opportunistic goalkeeping, (iii) excellent clearing, (iv) strong rides and (v) an offense that makes a ton of hay off of defenses forgetting about the back-side attacker (I believe almost all of #29's ~40 goals were assisted, on the lefty side, inside of ~5 yards). That combo is what sunk Williams in the second half today.

I think Midd's got a chance if they clean up the unforced turnovers in the offensive end, make better use of their strongest outside shooters and move the ball earlier on fast breaks.

I think they only advantage is Tufts had their legs run pretty good vs Ac yesterday

Tufts is just rolling right now. Can’t see them losing before they run into the RIT’s/Salisburys

This is one of the more impressive games I’ve ever seen. Five minutes into the second half and the #5 team in the country is already in “frustrated late hit” mode.

Through three quarters, Midd's offense predictably one-sided and prone to unforced turnovers. Toomy has done an excellent job frustrating Midd's righty threats and eliminating the crease camping goals. Solid blueprint for beating the Panthers in the NCAAs unless Haefele makes adjustments.

Not sure either one of them will be able to stop them. Unlike the past few years, they are much better at face offs and they have the best close D they have had in the danolfo era. Not sure anyone will stop this train especially since it all goes through Bello this year
