Bye Nick. Maybe Marin Catholic needs a volunteer.

Rolovich and all other unvaccinated Washington State assistants have been terminated for cause. Defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Jake Dickert is reportedly expected take over as interim head coach, per ESPN's Kyle Bonagura.
Amazing that pinheads like Rolovich would give up a head coaching job at a PAC 12 school just to avoid getting a vaccine. Childish. Good to see the state of Washington take this seriously. Kentfield doesn’t need Nick.

There’s no “I” in team for Nick.

All this lab talk blah blah blah. Sure, it's on the "so you're telling me there's a chance" kind of level. It could happen......

BUT......

Here's a simple exercise. How many species have we detected COVID in since the outbreak started? This thing moves between animals we interact with super easily.

Some bio-lab with protocols, or people getting too close to an infected fido or bambi?

Sure you do. It’s a much better political trope for a certain segment of a major political party if we could return to the days of calling it the Kung flu. Then their hero can return with a big “I told you so” and all his sycophants can cheer and erect a new gallows… this time for Fauci because everyone knows it was his (not the agency’s, his personal) funding of the lab.

Not because he’s a principled man, because a principled man is never a selfish pr*ck.

Not because he’s a religious man, because a truly religious man is never a selfish pr*ck.

Because he’s a right-wing extremist? Possible, because most right-wing extremists are selfish pr*cks.

Here, some real science on SARS-CoV-2.

https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02596-2

Unlike the garbage you are linking to, you should keep up with the science.

Studies of coronaviruses in thousands of bats in Southeast Asia are identifying some very close genetic relatives to SARS-CoV-2.

Last year, researchers described another close relative of SARS-CoV-2, called RaTG13, which was found in bats in Yunnan. It is 96.1% identical to SARS-CoV-2 overall and the two viruses probably shared a common ancestor 40–70 years ago. BANAL-52 is 96.8% identical to SARS-CoV-2, says Eloit — and all three newly discovered viruses have individual sections that are more similar to sections of SARS-CoV-2 than seen in any other viruses.

Viruses swap chunks of RNA with one another through a process called recombination, and one section in BANAL-103 and BANAL-52 could have shared an ancestor with sections of SARS-CoV-2 less than a decade ago, says Spyros Lytras, an evolutionary virologist at the University of Glasgow. “These viruses recombine so much that different bits of the genome have different evolutionary histories,” he says.

You are filling your mind with garbage, tech37. I respectfully suggest you stop doing that.

"The results, which are not peer reviewed" so... maybe

Both the Lab-leak Hypothesis and the article's claims may be true. It's certainly not an either/or situation. Keep trying though.
The probabilities are hardly equal.

A Wuhan lab leak as the origin of this pandemic is not at all consistent with the available evidence and would be an unprecedented event in human history. Human history? Gain-of-function has only been practiced for what, 10-15 years? You're just silly...

In contrast, a zoonotic origin is absolutely consistent with the available data and has countless precedent in the history of human infectious disease.

I think there has been enough propagation of lies and imbecilic conspiracy theories.
What is "imbecillic' is your refusal to rule out any chance of lab-leak, especially with how China has refused to cooperate fully to uncover the true origin of the virus. Just because someone coins a term doesn’t mean the concept hasn’t been around a long time. Gain of function is a purpose and in research the purpose is supposed to be articulated at the forefront. The concept of gain of function has been around as long as research has been around. Regurgitating a term is like spelling a word correctly but not understanding how to use it in a sentence

AHS Season 10 Revives The Stanley Kubrick Moon Landing Conspiracy
American Horror Story: Death Valley brings back a long-held conspiracy theory that Stanley Kubrick directed the fake moon landing of Apollo 11.

BY JORDAN WILLIAMS
PUBLISHED 3 DAYS AGO

Amidst American Horror Story season 10’s conspiracy-ridden alien premise, Death Valley revives the famous conspiracy theory that Stanley Kubrick directed the United States’ "fake" moon landing. Following Red Tide’s vampiric government experiments with black pills, Death Valley explores President Dwight Eisenhower’s 1954 treaty with aliens while modern-day characters experience the abduction aftermath. Along the way, Death Valley has confirmed long-held extraterrestrial conspiracy theories while rewriting history by blaming notable deaths and mysteries on aliens, including the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, assassination of JFK, and death of actress Marilyn Monroe.

One of the greatest long-held modern American conspiracy theories that ties into Death Valley’s extraterrestrial secrets is that the United States actually faked the 1969 moon landing. This isn’t a minor conspiracy kept to the most devoted alien theorists, as it’s been prominent and well-known since the live broadcast of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landing on the moon with Apollo 11 aired on television. The United States was in the midst of the Cold War and the famous Space Race with the Soviet Union, and America being the first nation to have astronauts land on the moon and return home safely won the competition, thereby demonstrating the country’s spaceflight superiority. While it’s long been held as one of the United States’ greatest accomplishments, some believe it was completely fake and that The Shining’s Stanley Kubrick directed the moon landing's live broadcast on a Hollywood sound stage.

Perfectly tying in aliens’ assistance in advancing America’s technological advancements with space conspiracies, American Horror Story season 10 confirms that Stanley Kubrick directed the moon landing on a sound stage in the aliens’ human holding center. According to Death Valley, the U.S. government sanctioned the faking of the moon landing to stop others from investigating space more closely - which could expose the aliens and the controversial Eisenhower alien treaty. The Death Valley episode explains that Stanley Kubrick directing a fake moon landing wasn’t based on his recent revolutionary space epic 2001: A Space Odyssey as long theorized. Rather, it was because Richard Nixon’s favorite movie was Dr. Strangelove, so he desperately wanted Kubrick’s eye. American Horror Story’s alien season takes the Kubrick involvement further by revealing he was given a “lifetime contract at Warner Brothers with no constrictions,” which explains why the director never worked with another studio after A Clockwork Orange.

Leslie Grossman’s character Calico reveals she was first abducted by aliens in 1969 after spending a night with Armstrong and Aldrin, who boasted to her about coming from rehearsals for the “moon landing” and how Aldrin cleverly pitched the line: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Calico explains she immediately knew something was fishy when seeing them because they were supposed to be in space that night, with Apollo 11’s launch being broadcast on live television a few days prior. After the government figures out Neil and Buzz have leaked Hollywood’s role in the moon landing to Calico, she’s abducted and becomes a new pregnancy test subject for Death Valley’s aliens.

Death Valley also cleverly points out why the moon landing had to be faked, even though the United States had access to alien technology that could easily accomplish the feat in reality. Calico explains that going to the moon was a waste of time and effort since it was already doable with the aliens’ assistance, so the U.S. government and the aliens decided it would ease humans’ worries into accepting that the unthinkable of grand technological advances were actually possible. According to American Horror Story, it was a way for the government to more easily introduce advancements in “velcro and computers” without citizens asking too many questions.

Incomprehensible. Millions dead and your position is who cares where it came from? "now what?"

How about... if we understand how this happened, right down to what occurred on a molecular level, this can be avoided in the future. You actually don't understand this? Unfortunately (so far) without China's cooperation we can't be certain. With total transparency it can be shown that the pandemic was caused by human manipulation in the lab or not. If so, GOF or any similar research can then be banned worldwide and the next worse pandemic may not occur.

There are very smart scientists around the world who can find a new, safer way to do this research. Perhaps through some sort of computer simulation or other, who knows? We do know that fallible humans tinkering with deadly viruses is a disaster waiting to happen.

a fan emotionally posts about the threat to his family members and business (understandably so, who wouldn't) but then asks such illogical questions? Based on that, I'm the one "at a loss."

And to further politicize this, is just dumb. "political trope"

Why is the WHO continuing to investigate the virus origin?... because Republicans insist they do?
