This is amazing.

Here are his takeaways:

- Humans are not causing a “sixth mass extinction”
– The Amazon is not “the lungs of the world”
– Climate change is not making natural disasters worse
– Fires have declined 25% around the world since 2003
– The amount of land we use for meat humankind’s biggest use of land
has declined by an area nearly as large as Alaska
– The build-up of wood fuel and more houses near forests, not climate
change, explain why there are more, and more dangerous, fires in
Australia and California
– Carbon emissions have been declining in rich nations for decades and
peaked in Britain, Germany and France in the mid-seventies
– Adapting to life below sea level made the Netherlands rich not poor
– We produce 25% more food than we need and food surpluses will
continue to rise as the world gets hotter
– Habitat loss and the direct killing of wild animals are bigger threats to
species than climate change
– Wood fuel is far worse for people and wildlife than fossil fuels
– Preventing future pandemics requires more not less “industrial”
agriculture

Is it not stunning to anyone who professes to believe in speech that climate wackos got this editorial removed? Amazing. Total fascists the left.

Never heard of the guy. No idea who he was until I looked him up on Wikipedia. He is a freaking author with no scientific background.

I do know the Russian propaganda rag that the article appeared in.

Here is my takeaway - If brains were dynamite, the whole climate denying world couldn't blow off their own noses.
This guy you never heard of was A HERO OF the ENVIRONMENT proclaimed by the Time Magazine back when it was credible and has been on this for decades.

I doubt he's heard of you!

Remember that 72 spent his formative years at Berkley. The fact he ever dropped back in is a miracle in itself. Those reverberations of Hendrix and purple haze may still cloud his judgement from time to time. :)

Major new climate study rules out less-severe global warming scenarios

These scientists now say it is likely that if human activities — such as burning oil, gas and coal along with deforestation — push carbon dioxide to such levels, the Earth’s global average temperature will most likely increase between 4.1 to 8.1 degrees Fahrenheit (2.3 and 4.5 degrees Celsius).
Hot in Siberia:

Temperatures in the Siberian town Verkhoyansk reached a record 100.4 degrees [38 degrees Celsius] in June.
The Arctic wildfires ignited unusually early this year due to hot and dry conditions in Siberia. In June, they released more polluting gases into the environment than any other fires in nearly two decades of data collection.

Exactly.

Let me add another hard truth: who the eff cares if polar bears die off anyway? The seals don't care!!!

Are you pro-polar bear numbskulls anti-seal? Why is the polar bear more worthy than the seal? I'm pro-seal. I want seals protected; I demand action. Kill the polar bears! Polar bears eat seals alive...how unfair and grisly is that!?!?

No way you skinny jeans lefty lunatics could stomach a seal being eaten alive by a polar bear.

Here's my one olive branch offer on this matter: feed skinny jean lefties to the polar bears and save the polar bears while getting rid of lefties. 1 + 1 = 3! Sign the petition!

Low energy posts are expected...

Not to interrupt the circlej*rk or anything, but the World Wildlife Fund and a number of other organizations started conservation efforts concerning Polar Bears in the early '70's. The environmentalists are responsible for the data in your graph attempting to denounce environmentalists.

I think we should choose a dedicated group of FLP environmentalists. Send them on a mission to meet and greet the Polar bears in person. They can discuss this with the cute cuddly bears. The upside is, the bears get a very tasty meal of fresh meat. :D

So that probably means controlled hunts will soon be authorized. Too many polar bears and "so-called" not enough ice.

Do you recall an entire ship of climate change aficionado scientists were trapped in ice off Antartica. They were surprised there was ice in Antarctica. After climate change and all. New Zealand and Australian Navy had to ice break their way into rescue the geniuses.

A lot of noisy data, and until you can exclude other impacts comparing the drops between China lockdown alone vs. everyone else (and a lot of the lockdowns started in Asia in early February) this is not a conclusion that can be reliably made.
