Thanks. Missed it. Any movement in that number lately or is it generally stuck?
Slowly ticking upwards. Especially as their accounts have been threatened from customers requiring only vaccinated personal on their premises.

Crazy times. I also heard some hospital is requiring spouses of the hospital employees need to be vaccinated or be subject to a monthly fee.
why not close contacts, kids over 12, and kids' teachers , teammates and coaches, if you know?
That might come. CT dropped mask mandate today…. Guy that runs a customer facing business can’t believe it. You don’t know who is going to walk through the door. Oh well.
especially if they had at least dressed themselves out in a designer cloth mask.
6 feet, i guess.

Looking forward to the people blaming those with only 1 booster shot, when the 4th one comes out. ;)

His folks will keep their masks on and their fingers crossed. Seven-Hundred and Nineteen Thousand (719,000) dead Americans. Pretty sure that number would have been lower with no mask, no vaccine and no social distancing.

Like most things, I think we are a little early but time will tell. I wear a mask indoors around people. You never know. For me it’s like wearing a hat or sunglasses. Not a big deal. Anyway, hopefully the worst is behind us. The Merck therapeutic would be a big help if its proven to be safe and effective. Time will tell. 719,000 dead folks but NBD….you got to die sometimes.

Read earlier his symptoms are mild. He should be fine. Good friend of his was a Yale hooper. Said guy was lying through his teeth at the hearings. But it’s a once in a lifetime gig. I have a picture of the guy with Brett being sworn in. Small world…wasn’t Squi.

Yeah... and who said they were

So the latest claim from the nut fringe is that the new Pfizer drug for COVID (same market as Merck's) is Ivermectin.

Guarantee you that once the new Merck drug has EUA, the Ivermectin nuts will still be pushing Ivermectin as better and cheaper. Their argument is always, "bad drug company, you are making money". Of course the customers for Ivermectin never consider that the clowns pushing Ivermectin for COVID are doing it to make money. The last thing the folks pushing hardest for Ivermectin want is for a big drug company to come out and get FDA market clearance for use against COVID. They would if they could, but they can't, because they can't prove efficacy. Ivermectin is off patent, has been for 25 years, anyone could do it. So if it is so effective, so damn good, why is no one doing it??
Doubt it. If and when the new drug is available, works, and is proven safe, IVM will be forgotten for treating Covid. Except by partisan bullies who gleefully ridicule people.

As for Merck's market for the new drug, they consider non-US poor countries to be their opportunity. These countries aren't being very successful in rolling out vaccinations. It will be a few years before these countries are significantly let alone fully vaccinated. The US market is not their primary opportunity.
If accurate, that's ridiculous. If the new drug is a treatment therapeutic, it's function is completely different from a vaccine. So long as there are breakthrough cases and new variants, of course the US should be a primary market.

He said “primary market”…. Not “not a market”. And you meant so long as there is “enough” breakthrough cases to support primary market demand. Not sure if the current rate of breaking through cases will support a primary market. There are many new variants already. What you mean is if a new variant is highly transmissible, infectious and causes severe disease……IMO.
