Hey Peter, rather than coming on and being your usual aszwhole self and telling us all what a bunch of ignorant puzzies we are, how bout you come up with some solutions that could possibly bring us together and make us a United States. You know, a country made up of people who can get along, share a common belief, and is truly a country that can be the beacon of light for the world to follow? Smart as you are, can you do that?
A friend of mine voted for Trump last election. His rationale was “how much damage can a president do”? I talked to him last week and he said there is no way he will vote for Trump or a republican senator. He said he is ashamed. He runs a oil and petroleum consulting firm that’s often engaged for M&A transactions. His direct reports are global. He said the arguments that he used to makes about America’s standing can’t be made now. People from country after country think that the USA is a joke now. It’s hard to argue that we are not. The POTUS asked if Finland is part of Russia. Think about how low a bar that is.

Simple summary from a simple mind that would rather throw feces. The ideal situation, which is actually attainable, is post Jim Crow legal protections and civil rights with many more intact black families. That gives blacks (and everyone else) a better shot at success in a system that has done more to raise their standard of living than any other in history. You and your BLM pals would consign them to dependence, I would offer them independence. You would keep them in failing schools. I would empower their parents. Nothing would make me happier if it spurred public school systems to up their own game to attract the parent's dollars. I believe education is the number one civil rights issue. And no, I did not say blacks were inferior, nozzleboy. I said whites were not superior. You have a hard enough time putting words in your own mouth without putting them in mine.

It's zero wonder why the Republican Party kicked you out. They don't care about the Confederacy...lol, as if. They want your country, they want your history, they want your voice. And they'll get all three easily from guys like you.

Go look at the CHOP is Seattle to see what your new bff Left comrades desire (as do several here on this board). Coming soon to Baltimore and other cities like yours where the Mayor is feckless and doesn't support the police and the residents don't demand better. You get what you deserve in this life; Baltimoreans deserve Baltimore and it's about to get much worse.
You should take a survey of your black friends and report back the results. Seems like an easy way to get to some answers you are looking for. Report back.

Why would I ask them? The ‘statue topplers’ aren’t black for the most part. Mostly They’re wheasling white boys like some posters here.
Because you stated “for the most part”....you can still ask...report back.

The survey results are in.

100% said your woke performative art is cringeworthy.

110% said your woke performative art is embarrassing.

120% said they think the left was likely castrated a decade ago based strictly on their inability to man up on America anymore.

Sounds like you have work to do, TLD.
I don’t use the term “woke”. The only reference I see is generally here. I am glad big donors to Loyola don’t all think like you do. One family in particular is doing good community work....you know the name....they seem to be “woke” as you put it.

Colonialist Serra promoted slavery and genocide among Native Americans. His evils and canonization may be viewed as blessings to some (perhaps even to you), but has been understandably been viewed as an insult by many. Putting up a statue in his honor is tantamount to doing the same for Hitler in the middle of Tel Aviv.

There’s an interesting little show by Dave Chappelle called 8:46. Not many jokes, but probably one of the most honest expositions you’ll find amongst wealthy Hollywood elite. Produced by Netflix but delivered through YouTube (not the channel, the free platform) for some reason. Wasn’t what I expected but enjoyed it and would recommend it.

The 8:46 represents the amount of time that the officer in Minneapolis had his knee on Floyd’s neck by the way. (Also as chappelle happens to point out his time of birth in an odd coincidence).

Also, imagine people with direct opinions supporting the same school. The horror!

I forgot to add that the survey respondents kept saying, ‘why did the Left topple Grant’s statue, he freed us!’ Maybe you can explain to them via this board.

At the risk of higher awareness (or something that just reinforces my own misguided outlook), can we take our little "time machine" to a few years back. The interviewer is my favorite liberal, in the classic "live and let live" sense. The first 5:30 is his response to those who feel he's actually a right winger. The subject has walked in a black man's shoes as the child of a single mom. I will never know what it's like, but his interview is insightful enough to give me a bit more perspective. Dismiss him at your peril, because I think he reflects the opinion of many black Americans, especially men.

Throw in the word genetics and “I am not racist, because Asians are generally more intelligent than Whites”.... it’s actually a stereotype. I believe too often, racism is interchanged with stereotype. Black people are content with the government taking care of their kids...it’s a hard try though but someone has to say it....BTW, what is the rate of high school graduates for blacks since the 1960’s?

Really think folks should check out the Chappelle bit. It’s raw and in front of a limited crowd at some outdoor venue who clearly were expecting more jokes.

One good point was an anecdote of a black former military service member turned cop who reported excessive force by his partner, was reprimanded himself led the force and shot four white cops. When they showed up it was “with like 400 of cops and they Swiss cheesed his a**.“ Why, because he killed some of them but then they don’t understand why they’re getting the reaction from black people from this stuff that’s going on, citing a few references. The hypocrisy he pointed out is stark.

You have not watched the video. What, Dave Rubin upset's you? Homophobe! You don't like Tommy Sotomayor? Why, he doesn't reflect your worldview. I can't see any of your faces, and I don't care about pigment. But this is a lax website, so I can guess at the percent of people here who have walked in a black man's shoes. Probably less than the general population if player participation translates to this board. I'm not asking for you to agree with me. I am asking for you to open your mind enough to listen to someone with actual experience that you likely don't have. Would it help if I made it about your guilt? You might be more receptive if it could assuage your fake guilt. Does accepting guilt provide any real lift to the object of your guilt, or would treating everyone as entitled to the opportunities a free society presents possibly be more productive and inclusive.
