You need a martini after these weekends. This poll work isn’t easy, other than Army.

Not gonna lie, I’d be really happy if Army found the Natty at the end of the season. I can’t imagine them losing until the tournament; I don’t see anyone they won’t certainly be favored over. The only return to some semblance of polling predictability is if they lose to Loyola or one of the other PL teams.

Great job yet again, JoeWillie!!
Thanks, actually. I'm a Gin and Tonic guy. In fact, I'm having one right now. When Cornell wins, I use Tangueray, when they lose, like yesterday, I drink Gordons.

I love the spirit!

Looking at Army’s schedule, I see them possibly throwing you a curve ball on April 26 with their last game of the season: they play at Loyola. If (and it’s a big if, obviously) they go undefeated til then, I wonder if they might rest starters, allowing Loyola to surprise and win a meaningless game? That would toss the polls into another heated debate.

Anyway, continue with this great work!
I dont think they have that luxury. This is a pretty bad schedule. Lot of lax left, but I dont think the RPI is going to look favorably on Army as the year progresses. This is the type of schedule that 2-3 losses could have you on the outside looking in.
Wow! The polls are just crazy. Everyone just keeps knocking each other off. So much parity.

Personally - I love seeing Army as the #1. I have so much respect for the service academies. During my time at Brown we had some epic battles against the Cadets.

Who is going to get knocked off this week?

Unlike the top teams in the Big 10, Ivies and ACC, Army faces only 1 more team that might have equal or better personnel in UNC and Army is arguably better coached. If they don't stumble to a lesser talented team, they could be in the same spot till regular season's end. The problem will come in the tournament when the other top ranked teams will be more battle tested. It could become difficult when they come up against teams with better personnel more used to playing in tough games.

How is Hopkins ranked higher than Denver?? Denver beat Hopkins in Baltimore and didn't even need 4 minutes of two-man up opportunities and 6 man up goals to do it.

Why is Penn State ranked above Colgate?

They did, however, need an extremely questionable two minute non-releasable though.

Why is Virginia ranked higher than Hopkins? We're at the point in the season where you can't just rank teams below every team they've lost to. Especially when it happened more than a month ago. And was no less of a fluke than Cornell's loss to Denver.

JW, you have done a great job in the chaos of the past weeks. This week, things seem to becoming clearer. Can’t really argue with any of your picks. Lot may/will change but in terms of what we know, this looks very much spot on…

After my beloved Cornell's great win on the road at Princeton, I feel really good about this top 10. The next 10 are tough, but I love having Navy back in the top 20.

Yep, nice to see Navy in the top 20. Quinnipiac still undefeated, unlike NJIT.

Best Cornell ending since the 2020 "Covid" Penn State game, where Teat tied it with about 30 seconds remaining and Petrakis (our Fogo) won it with about 3 seconds left.

Next Saturday at noon at the Kopf is Yale/Cornell. Both come off great wins, Yale over Harvard 17-15, and Cornell over Princeton 15-14.

What a game that should be.

Looks good for now, but what does it really mean for the season? Big 10 /ACC in conference games haven't even started yet. This list could look very different in a month.

What does it really mean? Nothing, but I love doing them and the forum seems to love the conversations that it comes with.
Of course it will look different in a month, and probably after next weekend in this crazy year of parity.

It also probably means, that I have way too much time on my hands.
