Nah, Eagles fans have their eye on the ball: the draft pick.

Sudfeld has played sparingly in his time with the team, but his performance last night was way below the way he has played in the past. Can’t blame the coach for his unexpected, pathetic performance. Besides, the rookie’s quarterback rating was 25 in the game. He wasn’t exactly lighting things up.

Hurts has generally played pretty well in the first half of games he’s played, but not so well in the second half once defensive coordinators have figured him out. Same thing was happening last night.

By the way, why isn’t anybody complaining that Andy Reid benched his starters yesterday?

That call to bench Hurts likely came from the Philly owner/GM box.
Giants players/fans can't complain. They had 16 other opportunities to make the playoffs.

Wentz is gonna negatively hang over the Philly QB situation until they move him. Move him asap. He's done there, but he's not done. Contract aside, I'm sure a few teams believe they have a quarterback whisperer on staff that can 'fix' him.

I hope they move him. Inconsistent reports in the media about that. Not clear which ones to believe. His contract and terrible play make moving him difficult. Eagles may need to give up picks to get another team to take him.

While he is a high character guy, I was never really on the Wentz wagon. Thought I was wrong in 2017, but not anymore.

Philly will be $73M over the cap in 2021. Gonna be some more lean years in Philly and some serious roster turnover. They are gonna cut some salary and get their books right.

Ertz would be deadly in Baltimore paired with Andrews or in Green Bay opposite Tonyan. Both teams were interested in him before the trade deadline . And both offenses have QBs who LOVE the TE.

Yep. Philly is in cap hell. That’s for sure. Of all the people I wanted them to get rid of, Howie Roseman was number one on my list. For a guy who is supposedly a cap genius, he sure has created a bad situation for the team. The unanticipated drop in the cap for next year also doesn’t help.

Everyone thinks Ertz is gone, including Ertz. He definitely has trade value. The question is how much. I would love to get a third rounder but I’m not sure they’ll be able to get that much. I think Ertz definitely has some tread left on his tires. He’s lost some speed and never was the best at breaking tackles, but he is really smart at finding holes in the zone. This year, however, defenses have wised up and have been covering him man-to-man. He has trouble beating man coverage due to his lack of foot speed. He has to be coupled with a quarterback who is willing to throw quick timing passes to him right at the break. Wentz simply can’t do that.

Jeffrey is gone. Jackson is gone. Peters is gone.

Always questions as to whether Kelce will retire.

But by far the biggest question is Wentz. I think they will try to move him, but that is not a sure thing. And he will be difficult to trade. Philip Rivers may hold the key. If he returns to the Colts, then the Colts won’t be a buyer. If not, they might be.

Imagine what Brady would look like if players were allowed to hit the QB like they did in Blanda's time.

Not only the QB but receivers too. Sure was no such thing as a defenseless receiver back in George's day and they weren't quite as bold about cutting across the middle of the field the way they are today. A much different game today, for sure.
Blanda was incredible.

Agreed. QB's may was well wear the "do not hit" red jerseys you see them with in practice.

On the other hand, I think the aforementioned rule changes are good. The brutal, vicious, cheap shots that used to be allowed weren’t good for the game. No one wants to see 2nd and 3rd string QB’s on a regular basis because the 1st stringers are out hurt.

Not disagreeing with the safety factor, however it can, and is, be taken too far....this is still football after all.
Have seen too many times a defender going in the air, arms to the sky trying to block a pass the QB is throwing
and when those arms come down one hand lands on the QB's helmet and roughing the passer is called. This is
a BS call and taking the safety factor too far. I don't believe QBs should be allowed to fight to get out of the
grasp of a defender anymore either, can't have this both ways. Once the defender has the QB the whistle has
to be blown and the play is over. Defenders have to be too tentative and careful when making any kind of
contact with a QB, need to put flags on them and let them play flag football while the rest play full contact
football. Have seen too many good football plays result in penalties and it kind of ruins the game. Again, count
me in on improving safety but you have to keep it a level playing field for all players, can't give one player such
a huge advantage. This is why comparing what past QBs have done to what those are doing today is like comparing
boxing to the MMA, two different games, two different levels of protection/rules. Have said many times, Dick
Butkus wouldn't even be allowed on a football field anymore and that does indeed make it a different game.

Agreed on the cheap shots. But they have gone too far. To DMac's point how many times this season have you seen a d player let up on a QB so as not to get a penalty. The QB keeps playing to make some "miraculous" play that the talking head raves about that should have never happened because the QB should have eaten a heavy dose of dirt.

To your point about 2nd or 3r string QB's...To me, and I am an outlier for certain, I would much rather watch a good O line and Derrik Henry chew up rushing yards than QB's throwing the ball all over the place to receivers over the middle who should be jacked up but wont because they are defenseless.

Put a skirt on him then. What Smith did used to be illegal. Used to draw a flag. Somewhere along the line they changed the rule.

You must be a Redskins fan. No commentary claiming this was a dirty hit on the national TV broadcast, even from Chris Collingsworth.

I thought the Eagles were supposed to be tanking this game. Can’t have it both ways.

Not NFL but in last night's NC game, Bama's Barmore was called for roughing the passer or unnecessary roughness (can't remember which), that call was a perfect of example of going way too far to protect the QB, was absolutely nothing wrong with the play/hit. Had no rooting interest in either team, didn't care who won it.
Way off topic but that's okay. I'm a Cowherd fan, think he's pretty good, have been listening to him since before he was on TV.
Absolutely don't agree with everything he says but he does his homework and makes things interesting.
Now, wayyyy off subject...his co-host, Joy Taylor. How is it that a sports talk show person comes to work dressed pretty much like this and that's acceptable?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70M6UWKMf1w
This gal brings a great set of titts to the show but offers little else.
"My eyes are up here"....right, but that's not where you want them.
It's BS.

Bad move. Should’ve gotten rid of Howie Roseman.

Wentz apparently is one of those players who can get the coach fired. Not good. He should be gone.

Jeffrey Lurie is turning into Little Danny Boy Snyder/Jerry Jones without the obnoxious personality.

Not a skins fan or an eagles fan.

 And if the eagles were tanking this game, why would they want to take out a qb when he knew he was offsides?....unless they were trying to take out a qb. Seems they were trying to tank the game and Alex. ;)
