This, along with other comments throughout the early parts of the draft makes me think the champion reeks of desperation…..
More like boredom. It's lonely at the top, and it takes forever to get to my pick.
How many of your 3 “first grade” players are left with 3 picks before you?
All 3. And I watched a game last night on youtube while exercising of a player I had as a 2nd round player, that I think fits in the (late) 1st round group well enough.

I totally missed Traynor. I think I get him and his brother confused.
Who has been drafted that you marked as "second grade" ?

Willem, Aiden, who ?
Good question. Since I'm drafting at the end of the 1st and beginning of the 2nd, the actual distinction between those two rounds is insignificant, but I still put players into bands (1st round, 2nd round, etc) based on my perception of the likelihood that they will get a lot of fantasy points. It's tricky because some players might be more of a lock for playing time, but not have a high upside in terms of scoring. I'm sure most of us have to weigh those things when we're drafting, at least in some rounds. Also, my strategy that I use for drafting informs how much I value certain players, as I'm sure is the case for a lot of us. For example, my roster is pretty well-balanced class-wise. Getting a high scoring senior like Boyden doesn't make a whole lot of sense for me, since I have enough high-scoring attackman and I don't think he would provide with enough upgrade for one season to reward me for drafting him in the first round, so I graded him as someone in a later round.

I don't want to get too into who I had where because I haven't picked yet and I don't want to provide anything that might help those before snipe someone I want. After I pick at 20 and 21 I may post more. But, also my grades are informed by my own biases and flawed. For example, I loved watching Trey Deere over the summer in the OJLL and it sounds like he's maybe the 4th attackman for SU this season. He is a unique talent around the goal and I really hope he does well for SU. But I've been burned by a couple Syracuse attackmen over the years (since I hit late round gold with Kevin Rice) and I think I downgraded Deere a little because of that. I didn't think I would take him if he were available for me at 20 or 21, but i didn't see him lasting until 60 when I draft next. This was before IL's newest rankings came out. The new rankings might have changed my thinking on Deere if he'd lasted longer.

Edit: I had Firth and McLane as first rounders.

Potential lead player for Rutgers, very decent pick.. could also end up being a bit two way is the only risk I’d say. But that’s a more a mark of his overall good play.. could easily be a top scorer for them or end up like a Ryan Conrad kind of player. Amazing but not a big points getter

I like the player and his opportunity but drafted too early here

FFG's early second round pick would land this player i think..

I am a big fan of Avery. But, Traynor had 39 points last year and Avery had 31 points. Avery only has 1 year left. Traynor has 2 years left.

Traynor was #1 on my board of potentials. Avery was down a few pegs for me.

If Keoni is late to draft, it could be a quadruple snipe if TLD and Ohmi are ready to pounce.

When does Keoni's slot expire and when can I make my first pick. With Ohmilax behind me with two consecutive picks, I am forced to rethink my selection.

Was going to chime in it was a little before 8 because we went through it and our lists a little and then watched a show before bedtime and I had gotten back from dinner around 7:20.

Keoni’s got plenty of time still. Man come draft time you guys love jumping cats. Remind me to call “fives” immediately if we’re ever hanging out and I have to leave my seat for any reason at all.

In a different thread I’d have an immediate response to your concerns about being “jumped by Ohmi” but will just say “I understand” here given the audience.

I really like this pick just terrified of what I’ve seen Myers do to every transfer who’s come in last few years. Top of my list of coaches to not trust right now. But could be a valuable midfielder piece.

Hard to say how much the step up in comp will be a challenge but I could see it being similar to when the midfielder from Mt St Mary’s went to Richmond for his 5th year two years ago. Actually shot better at Richmond than eh did when I saw him in NEC play.
