Change in habitat often fuels new viruses. The earth will be fine... but the people? Not so sure.

You do know a research vessel full of climate change believing scientist was STUCK IN THE ICE off Antarctica because there wasn't supposed to be any ice there. They were completely surprised and had to be rescued by the Australian Navy.

The Himalayan glaciers were supposed to be completely melted by now.

Polar bear population has INCREASED.

Its all modeling. We've seen recently how those have worked out.

Sure. We are in a warming trend today. Tomorrow, it will be a cooling trend.

I always think of two things regarding this issue:

1. The earth recalibrates where it needs to be all of the time; if the earth warms too much, there'll be an opposite pull by earth to balance the need; these sensible observations are supported by millions of years of earth's history.

2. Even were earth to continue to warm over a few decades, that will surely cause unexpected benefits for life on earth, better and longer growing seasons, development of heretofore undeveloped lands.

Nothing is as sad or bad as people scream (unless of course you die). This earth will be here long after you and I are gone, and it's been here long before we were even a glint in our parent's eyes. This mass hysteria is a scam perpetrated mostly by very smart grifters, seizing on empirical evidence that we have warmed recently, in order to scare voters to vote these politicians more $$.

The scientists who say we have warmed (and we have), have no idea that the politicians abuse the scientists' data to affect other ends.

The Earth does fluctuate between warm and cool periods. Of course, often these periods are very long, lasting long than you or I shall live or even the length of time that man has existed.
2. Even were earth to continue to warm over a few decades, that will surely cause unexpected benefits for life on earth, better and longer growing seasons, development of heretofore undeveloped lands.
Global warming would cause a sea level rise which would submerge a lot of land. In particular, if it caused the antarctic glaciers to melt, it would cause enough of a sea level rise to submerge much of Florida.
Warming could cause arid conditions, which would not be good for agriculture. It could cause the increase of major storms.

The Earth will be here a long time but might not have human life on it for much of it.

There is NO evidence of "recalibration" (whatever that is). I am not sure the Gaia hypothesis is a valid scientific one anyway. Your observations are not sensible - they are ill-informed. More an attempt to say cyclical so it will come back. And while there are cycles due to orbital changes, for example, those are quite long term (10s of thousands of years.

2. Even were earth to continue to warm over a few decades, that will surely cause unexpected benefits for life on earth, better and longer growing seasons, development of heretofore undeveloped lands. Drought, loss of farmland, too much rain in other areas - will not necessarily be a net gain.

Nothing is as sad or bad as people scream (unless of course you die). This earth will be here long after you and I are gone, and it's been here long before we were even a glint in our parent's eyes. The issue is not the Earth. It is the people living on it. And the real possibility of mass displacement when sea levels rise and the place they are living disappears.

The scientists who say we have warmed (and we have), have no idea that the politicians abuse the scientists' data to affect other ends.

It is the scientists who are saying we need to do something. They are frustrated with a lot of the politics - but none more than that you espouse. Ignore at all of our own peril.
