Any info on the kid? I follow a fair amount of the Canadian programs but I don’t know him at all. Attack or mid? Lefty or righty.
He's a lefty midfielder. From what I understand he's basically impossible for high school defensemen to cover. Just too big, strong, and skilled with his stick. Doesn't always translate to D1 but he checks a lot of intriguing boxes. I know 10stone5 has been raving about him for months. I was frankly surprised IL made him a 4-star instead of a 5-star but maybe they just didn't see him enough up in Canada (plays for the same teams incoming freshmen Raposo and Peshko played for). If it is Collison, Junior is going to have an absolute field day developing this kid.

Confirmed, it's Collison. Nice get for the new staff. Can we all relax now?

Developing?

Xanders:
High 4 star Matthew Collison ‘22, M, St. Michael’s (Ont.) / @EdgeLacrosse has committed to @JHUmenslacrosse. A beast at 6’4, 225 lbs., he’ll suit up for new Hop OC and lefty Canadian legend @JohnGrantJr24 at Homewood: https://insidelacrosse.com/recruiting/profile/53092
Cloutier is not a bad comp. Mark Matthews would be another one. If he's half as good as his future OC we'll be in very good shape.

A few notes on Collison.

First, the big guy apparently can ride and play D. Go figure.

Second, while Collison looks like he has a diverse skill set, he is built like a classic dodging midfielder. Interesting “get” for a team that has reportedly committed itself to a motion offense.

Third, it’s ironic that Milliman’s first real recruit is a “classic” Pietramala-style middie.

Collison looks like a terrific recruit. Now, if I can only stop autocorrect from constantly changing his name to “Collision”.

Collison,
great pick up,
IL has him undervalued, he’s 5 star,
this is Grant Jr. influence as he either sees a lot of
himself or Mark Matthews in Collison.

I wonder with Grant Jr. there,
could he influence a player like this to come here,

he looks like the, or at worst, a top 5 player for
2022, Edge Lacrosse, Mark Matthews clone,
6’4” 215, Matthew Collison,

Would've loved to have seen if Daniels would've let the team go to the White House if they had won during our trump era.

Don’t bring politics into the thread!

But, they might have 3 or 4 more chances.

Beast, cog, new terms, Xanders is reading our forum again. He should just come here and do a fall q/a since the hop lacrosse forum gets more daily viewers than any other place in the sport. I thought it was a quality discussion last time. Many of you have thoughtful questions and it helps dispel rumours and bs.

I’d like to see Xanders and 16 in a cage match.

I'd take 16. More guile, more spirit, better preparation.

KId makes it look too easy. Doesn't seem to have to try that hard to get his. He'll have to turn up the intensity level against DI players.
