You just don't like that I told you this was going to happen & why.
...& how it could & should have been prevented, at key points along the past 3 decades.
That won't stop the west from responding. The effect of the threat on Ukraine itself, its willingness to fight, I don't know. What I have seen is that even in the east around Karkiv, where he could expect a degree of welcome, it doesn't seem to be happening.PizzaSnake wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 1:03 pmChernobyl blackmail. I asked this the last time this stupidity was discussed a few years ago: why doesn't the US invade Mexico? Like Putin, we can do it. So why don't we?
Here's your answer..........
Russia’s stock markets plunged at the start of a delayed trading session Thursday after Russia launched military action in Ukraine.
The benchmark MOEX index of leading Russian shares fell by more than 40% in morning trading according to data on the exchange’s website. The crash came as Western governments promised unprecedented sanctions in response to President Vlaidmir Putin’s shock announcement that Russia had launched military action against Ukraine.
And the thing no one is talking about, is that Ukraine has the worst economy in the entire region. And that was BEFORE the invasion.
Any of you going to do biz, or buy things from Russia or Ukraine in the coming year? Send in your money, and hope the good or service arrives?
This is why you don't do this stuff, folks. And the sanctions haven't dropped yet.

Trump, like Obama, thought Ukraine isn’t our problem.

There's already videos and photos of blown up Russian tanks, a downed AN-26, aircraft firing missiles at apartment buildings and much more.CU88 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 1:36 pm It is going to be amazing to see the propaganda generated on social media during this invasion. Ukraine’s ambassador to the US just told us that a Russian platoon from the 74th Motorized Brigade has surrendered to Ukraine’s forces. She says that the Russian troops apparently had been unaware they were being sent to kill Ukrainians.
No confirmation yet from Russia’s military.

Putin is the consumate opportunist. Trump and BHO are both irrelevant in the discussion. It is true that BHO admonished his challenger when questioned about the Russian threat... What were those words BHO lambasted Mittens with... The 80s called Mittens, they want their foreign policy back. None of the FLP turnips on this forum that were present at that time did nothing but laugh at POTUS Obama pitch slapping Mittens about the Russian threat. It ain't so funny now is it? To this day I wish Mittens had the balls to call BHO out. The only time Mittens had balls was when he called out trump.. he even sounded angry when doing so. Too late Mittens to prove you have balls. You were a day late and a dollar short there. So do you liberals here believe BHO was correct in his analysis of Putin's threat to peacea fan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 1:25 pmEssexfenwick wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 1:11 pm I gotta admit I overestimated how much respect Putin had for Biden.

This does not look like shock & awe. The Russians seem to be concentrating on military targets. That makes sense, to minimize damage & civilian casualties, if they want to force a regime change & then be able to rule the population & not devastate the physical infrastructure & civil order.
They are not terrorizing the public by taking out phones & the elec grid. They want to preserve as much as they can to annex it, have a compliant population & limit an insurrection. This is not to minimize those who have been killed. They just don't seem to be targeting the civilian population or generating mass casualties. It's a pragmatic strategy, not done for humane reasons.
Mittens has an argument to make.. he just doesn't have the balls to make it. He tried to warn BHO and was pitch slapped and acted like a scolded little puppy. I wonder what Mittens has to say about this Russian aggression. He has every right to rub BHOs nose in this horrible underestimation his administration made regarding Russia and Putin. I guess that reset button just didn't work the way the queen of evil anticipated.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:10 pmI am sure Mittens and Obama care what you think as they review their quarterly statements.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:08 pmPutin is the consumate opportunist. At the end of the day nothing changes... Putin gets what he wants, a lot of innocent people will die and the world won't give a flying fig one way or another. We are more concerned as a resident of this planet about stopping CC/GW. So what does Putin think he needs to do to save the planet?old salt wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:11 pm Based on the limited info reported to this point --

Putin saw opportunity when the first person from the United States he met from the Biden administration was John F'n Kerry. That showed how serious we were about our relationship. I wonder if Putin was disappointed James Taylor didn't come along and play some Sweet Baby Vladimir.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:18 pmSend him an email…..stop chitting your pants over stuff you can’t control.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:17 pmMittens has an argument to make.. he just doesn't have the balls to make it.
