Nancy supports it…..she just minimized all of them as ‘people to pick crops’.

Probably the first honest thing she’s said in quite awhile.

Seems like every time I hope aboard a Metro bus there's another Russian or Ukrainian getting on board and asking for directions from the driver in broken English. Like Afghanis, all these people are readily allowed to enter the country but God or Goddess help any Latin who tries to enter as readily as they do. Why don't forum right wingers object to this part of the immigrant caravan?

Not a lot of difference in ethos between pre-Maga Rethugs and Dems. Both groups were complicit in the perpetuation of the "slave labor" state as am I, and I dare say, you. Unfortunately, given the parlous state of our political system that is dominated by twp parties, there isn't a lot of room for nuance and any wildly divergent thought. As my mother would ruefully proclaim, "I held my nose and voted for X." Incidentally, I never ate a table grape as a child due to my mother's support of Caesar Chavez. Don't eat them to this day. Not because of any great principled stand, rather I just didn't incorporate them into my diet. So yes, I'm as big a hypocrite as most, with the exception that on occasion I can recognize and admit it. Are you "free from sin?"

So, if what is desired is representation of ALL people and ALL viewpoints, what do you propose? Or do you have in mind something a little less egalitarian?

In that link she is quoting farmers who said it (they said the same thing here in Lake Wobegone). Are the farmers wrong? Do note that she did not "minimize" them as such. It's just the delusional right wingers trying to make some points thru their usual misquotes or quotes out of context. Typical McCarthyite tactics.

She states a regrettable truism about how a good part of our economy, with the complicity of the two parties and you and me, works. Anything else? But sure, gotcha....

Regrettable? You are letting people off the hook far too easy. I would suggest the term 'intentional', would be far more appropriate. When nearly everything can be traced back to the idol of money, it is no surprise to see the wealthy reveal themselves....as my signature from Livy explains.

Our immigration system is riddled with the new era slave labor...only this time, we are paying them as they go, while turning a blind eye to everything wrong.

You seem to minimize her comment, as if it is tolerable....I am guessing that very same thing happened for centuries with slaves, the end result is 'complicity' as you suggest, which further perpetuates inequality. It may very well be 1 of the top 2 reasons why our gov't pols are completely fine with so many undocumented immigrants in the US and swiss cheese border control.

The part that should offend you is that she's the leader of the House, telling you that a bill is needed for immigration reform.

She's lying, of course, because, of course, the next question to her should be: great news, Nancy! So where's this F'ing bill?

THAT is the part that's the lie.

So it is only an issue when DeSantis does it. All the blather on this forum from FLP wankers about the government lying and yada yada yada. When it is their folks doing all of the lying, then it is a horse of a different color. At least DeSantis had the gumption to tell America what he was doing and why. The same brain damaged democratic leadership would not be honest with the American people to let them know they were distributing illegals all over the country in the middle of the night when no one was looking.

where you been, cradle?...this is old news, and already addressed quite coherently.

Of course the government moves people to other parts of the country, whether to their families or to orgs prepared to handle their care while they are going through the asylum process. That's rational and appropriate.

There's plenty to criticize the government about without making up a dumb argument.

By contrast, DeSantis lied to the asylum seekers from Venezuela (not "illegal"...they're here legally) and shipped them from Texas to a location without informing the local organization/government of their likely arrival...on purpose not coordinating. Stranding legal asylum seekers far from where they need to be to pursue their asylum cases and lying to them...but hey, someone else's problem...it's backfiring on DeSantis.

A load of horsechit on your part yet again. I like how you try and bullchit your way out of the democRAT lie by declaring it old news that was already covered. This is the definition of dumb. RedfromMI, I think, responded immediately several days ago that the two situations were entirely different. Many sources would have confirmed this. But the Couch in Rochester stands firm in his unknowing, incurious position.

If your party is choosing to transport illegals to various cities as quietly and anonymously as they can in the middle of the night you folks can try and explain it all day long. Nice try counselor but your objection is over ruled. When you do this type of stuff in the middle of the night when nobody is paying attention there is a very simple reason why. You dont want people to see what you are doing. It ain't that complicated counselor. Why isn't the Biden administration doing these relocations using the concept you hold dear of " full transparency" ??? Everyone can see what your up to at 3pm. Nobody knows what your up to at 3am. When you cut to the chase Democrats are relocating these illegals all over the country very, very quietly so nobody asks them alot of questions. When somebody like myself starts to question the concepts via your criticism of DeSantis and Abbott doing the same damn thing you become miraculously all hypersensitive about the issue. I wonder why that is?? I think I can see better from my couch in Rochester than you do from your Lazy Boy recliner.
