Dolan is the entire difference in this game.

Either Darby starts making some saves or he should sit.

Right now for Maryland, SOG = goal.

Coach hasn't let anyone else have any meaningful playing time at all. I guess it couldn't be much worse, but wouldn't be fair to throw backup into this.
Not ideal, for sure. But your season is on the line.
Kind of gamblers fallacy. Didn’t like how he handled his goalies in recent years, so keeps playing and playing the same over and over again this year.

Hopkins can't.

Been the story all year. 12 shots, 2 goals won't beat top teams.
Blue Jays shot fine on Saturday.

They’re getting good looks, but Dolan is on fire.

Agree, Maryland goalie is standing on his head.

Maryland also getting the ground balls this time.
He's not really standing on his head. The first 2 saves by MD goalie are just terrible shots by Hopkins. The baskin shot up top was a freshman HS save.

Making it too easy for him, however. Three (if I'm counting correctly) shots were right at his stick and weren't that strong.

Even worse, that defensive breakdown with ~4 seconds to go and MD bringing the ball in from behind the cage was a killer.

I don’t buy the notion that a 7-7 Hopkins team will make the NCAA tournament. The committee will find a way to keep Hopkins out.

Blue Jays have two quarters to save their season.

I agree, but he's stopping absolutely everything now. You could argue that bad shots gave him confidence, but he's definitely standing on his head now.

When Mark Dixon called Kyle Prouty “Danny Narewski” I knew it might be a long night.

Jays are playing hard. All things considered, only down 4...it’s not over. But things have to change quickly.

I would say a 7-7 Hopkins team doesn't deserve to make the tournament this year, but actually thinking the committee would find a way to keep them out is laughable.

One could argue that the biggest difference between Maryland and Hopkins over the past decade is that MD has the best goalie coach in college lacrosse (Tillman).

Meanwhile, Hopkins is reliant on a volunteer coach. Yeah, it’s Larry Quinn, but being Larry Quinn doesn’t make you a great goalie coach. Nothing against the all-time great ... just sayin’.

The numbers disagree with this if everything falls right.

Towson is up 2 at the half.

Hop has figured out they are going early on 32, as noted earlier, so they put in the 2man behind to take away early slide. The Williams takes advantage of he same. Great GB on the crease.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Wouldn’t rely on RPI and SOS, although the committee is supposed to do that. They’ll look for the prettier record.

They need to play to win.

Now they are showing a two man behind and throwing back for step down. Great adjustments.
