Realguy wrote: Tue Jul 30, 2019 11:33 am At the end of 2019 there were 46 Terps on the roster and 10 were graduating seniors. If my math is correct that is 36 returning under classman plus the 15 players listed on IL as being 2019 commits and add on the 3 transfers for now. With a 54 player roster entering fall ball some guys are getting cut or transferring, I say between 6-10 to make room for some over the xmas break additions. Thoughts ? And if a kid is a scholarship athlete and he theoretically can't have his money taken away because of the BIG 10 commitment how do you think Cashman/Tills goes about getting that money back. Do you think he will ask nicely and politely or perhaps ride the kid and make him miserable to the point where he either quits or transfers. Remember there are only 12.6 athletic $$$$ and those undesirables could be the difference between attracting a transfer or not. Either way the Maryland Yankees will do just fine, can we start calling the Terps "The Evil Empire" and Tills Darth Vader.
Man you are bitter

Pardon my Lawng Oiland ignorance, but is LIU Post the same thing as CW Post? 'Cause at one point, CW Post had a very legit program with very legit players. Also, are you saying that LI Post is now D1 for lax? I assume they would play among others, Hoftsra? What conference?

SOS to WahooMurf to sort all this out.

Good to see Rotanz get a chance.
He seemed almost like another assistant at UMd that season he was out with his malady.

Yeah.......I don't want to rub this in because your program (Hopkins, not the Terps whom I hold in high regard) is in such a cluster-sinkhole, but your post didn't exactly age well... Like maybe you need to write your posts and wait 24 hours to get the news before committing indelible internet ink to the internet.

What about that post is untrue? He didn't bail? Did I miss the news that he decided to stay at Loyola after all? Kid had 43 goals as a freshman midfielder, didn't feel welcomed by the team. Peaced out. That's what happened.

What I'm reading is a kid was unhappy with his teammates, so he left. It happens.

gmh and long take the lp title handily after a tight semis game. tons of young talent up there. playing without "coaching", fun to watch.
@ gmh--long, tehoka, jordan krug, nakeie montgom, jt giles-harris, ryan creighton.

another philly area squad couldn't get out of their bracket with ament, forry smith, charlambides at att, aitken & buttermore @ mid, just the guys i know about.

stacked syracuse squad, another with a number of penn staters made semis. as did a nazareth team, i believe.

Sweet Pallonetti's left-hand shot reminds me a little of Joe Walters.

Here are some Jack Sawyer 2019 highlights:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGvwCWfAPGE

I still tend to favor Jack Sawyer stepping into Dubick's spot. He has nice speed and quickness and a good all-around game. The only knock might be that he needs to bulk up some for D1.

That being said, one thinks of playing Pallonetti at the midfield and finding him open out in front of the goal and hitting him with a pass for one of those big left-handed shots - or isolating him on an ssdm. 8-)

As long as we are looking over the freshmen attackman, perhaps we should look back at Nick DeMaio's 2018 highlights:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO3HTWnRYh4

Nick was red-shirting with the Terps this Spring and was listed at 6'2 190 on the Terps roster. Definitely has a D1 ready physique. Stick checks seem to bounce off him. Nice lefty shot. Maybe Nick will get the nod, and play with his brother.

Ball placement was excellent as well as general stick skills. I also liked the palm trees in the background. Pretty cool. I hope all the young guns really get some meaningful playing time this year because scoring will be needed until the new D gets its legs.

Another transfer according to College Crosse

Some transfer news to pass along: Rising junior FOGO Joel Trucksess, formerly of Lehigh, has transferred to @TerpsMLax. He entered the transfer portal earlier in the summer and joins John Tillman's squad that also landed D Nick Grill (Marquette) and G Chris Brandau (Georgetown).

Those commit highlight videos only confirm the horrible truth about Tillman....he hates righties. Probably doesn't even like Bernhardt.
